CNN anchor Don Lemon lectured conservative radio host Ben Ferguson for being quick to pan President Obama's Friday address on race, during Saturday's 4 p.m. ET hour of Newsroom.
Lemon -- who has played the race card by twice comparing traditional marriage supporters to segregationists -- told Ferguson that since he's white, he has a "place of privilege" that minorities don't have and therefore can't fully understand the plight of black people in America.
In an essay for gay and lesbian magazine Advocate, CNN's openly-gay anchor Don Lemon insisted that the public has accepted the gay and lesbian lifestyle and anyone who opposes it is a loon.
"These days, it seems absurd that anyone would want to deny civil and human rights to anyone," Lemon wrote. He also lobbied for black Christians to accept homosexuality as normal.
CNN's Early Start should have been re-named "DNC TV" on Tuesday. Anchors omitted almost every controversial detail about Democrats, showing no such love for Republicans.
While CNN reported charges against a former staffer for Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), the network spun scandals into positives for New York Democrats Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer with the headline "Scandals Help, Not Hurt." Then in its report on embattled San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, CNN omitted his Democratic affiliation. Filner is also a former Democratic congressman, who currently faces accusations of sexual harassment.
On CNN's Monday night special "The N Word," guest Tim Wise claimed that the Supreme Court used that racial slur against all black Americans through its rulings on the Voting Rights Act and affirmative action.
"I mean, the reality is, we have a Supreme Court that in the last ten days has just basically called 40 million black folks that word without saying it by restricting or limiting the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and basically ending for all intent and purpose or, at least, limiting in many ways, affirmative action," Wise insisted.
CNN really showed its bias in reacting to two very different Supreme Court decisions this week. On Tuesday, the Court struck down a portion of the 1965 Voting Rights Act; in the hours that followed, CNN's coverage included four times as many critics of the decision as supporters (8 vs. 2).
Then on Wednesday, the Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act and permitted the nullification of California's Proposition 8 banning gay marriage. This time, CNN's coverage skewed in favor of the Court, with roughly three times as many on-air guests supporting that decision as opposing it (20 vs. 7).
Openly-gay CNN anchor Don Lemon treated his viewers to live coverage of a gay "kiss-out" and gave them a tour of "iconic" gay bar Stonewall Inn in New York City, on Wednesday.
"If you haven't been to a gay bar, you're about to go to one," Lemon told CNN's audience, during coverage of the reactions to Wednesday's Supreme Court rulings. "I'm standing in front of the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement." He gestured toward two men making out in front of the bar, noting "Right now, they're holding a kiss-out in front."
CNN anchors cheered the Supreme Court striking down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on Wednesday, and hyped the Court's decisions on same-sex marriage as a "watershed moment in history."
Host Piers Morgan spiked the ball on DOMA's grave, tweeting "RIP bigotry. #SCOTUS #DOMA". Openly-gay anchor Don Lemon tweeted "Big day for civil rights. #lgbt. #cnn".
So the Boy Scouts of America have caved, voting on May 23 to allow openly gay Scouts. It was probably inevitable – just as the organization will inevitably be forced to drop its ban on openly gay adult Scout leaders. Cue the sound of popping champagne corks in newsrooms and TV studios up and down the coasts.
When news first broke back in February that the Boy Scouts of America might allow local charters to decide their own policies on including gays as Scouts and leaders, the broadcast networks were exultant. Well they should be, because they and the rest of the media have waged a long campaign against the Scouts on behalf of the gay lobby.
NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell and Fox News host Sean Hannity kicked off the "Media Mash" segment of the May 16 Hannity with a deliciously ironic clip of Hardball host Chris Matthews lamenting on his Tuesday program that President Obama is surrounded by adoring yes-men who can't bear to tell him bad news, and that that culture of groupthink leaves the president prone to embarrassing scandals. "A little irony there?! I couldn't resist! I had to start with that," Hannity said suppressing laughter. "Okay, a sycophant who's in awe and in love with Barack Obama. Chris Matthews, call your office," Bozell quipped, adding, "This is the man who spits to tell us how much Obama's the perfect man."

On Sunday's 6 p.m. Newsroom, CNN's Don Lemon made a shockingly generous excuse for the Obama administration's talking points on Benghazi that were edited a dozen times to the point of inaccuracy.
"[T]he accusation is that the Obama administration in some way tried to change the talking points or water them down. And my question is, and I really – I'm being honest about this, what administration, Ana, doesn't try to control the message no matter what it is?" Lemon asked. He also framed the accusations against the administration as "partisan," ignoring whether or not they were also true.
After hosting a Sunday segment on whether the Boy Scouts should allow openly-gay scouts and leaders, CNN's Don Lemon re-tweeted gay advocate David Begor's praise of him giving an "anti-gay scoutmaster" a "tough life lesson" and an "intervention."
On Thursday, Begor tweeted a link to Lemon's interview with former Eagle Scout John Stemberger and activist Zach Wahls, founder of Scouts for Equality. He noted Lemon and Wahls staging "an intervention" with Stemberger, who opposes the inclusion of openly-gay members in the Boy Scouts. Begor also touted the "tough life lesson" they gave Stemberger. Lemon re-tweeted Begor's praise.
In yet another episode of CNN's Don Lemon pestering a conservative guest, he belittled and smeared The Heritage Foundation's Ryan Anderson on Sunday. Anderson had claimed that same-sex marriage is not illegal, just not recognized as "marriage" by many state governments and the federal government.
"Well, I'm the anchor of this show, so I can interrupt as much as I want. So let me interrupt and then I'll let you talk," Lemon rudely lectured Anderson. Lemon called his argument "absurd" and accused him of spreading "rumors and infactual information."
