On September 30, the New York Times ran a front-page story that smeared St. Junipero Serra. Repeated attempts to have the paper correct the record have failed. This is yellow journalism at its worst. When I submit paid ads to the Times, I am often asked to identify my sources. Yet it accepts hit jobs like Holson's. The fact is there is no list of historians who claim Fr. Serra tortured Indians, and the Times knows it.

The French magazine, notorious for its vile offenses against the sacred beliefs of Muslims, Christians and Jews, has now published two disgusting cartoons mocking the death of little Aylan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian boy whose body washed up on the shores of Turkey during the Syrian refugee exodus.

Last November, Terrence Bean was taken into custody in Portland, Oregon following an indictment by a jury that charged him with multiple sex crimes against minors. Now additional child sexual abuse charges have been made against him. Why isn't the media covering this? Because he's a prominent gay leader, that's why.

Bill Maher returned to bashing the Catholic Church on Friday's Real Time, as he discussed the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. After noting how the United States (more specifically, President Obama) would not use the word "genocide" to describe the mass murders, Maher pointed out, "You know who said it's a genocide? The Pope. The Pope was like f--- yeah, it's a genocide! The Pope has huge balls. You got to admit that. You would too if you were 78, and never had sex."

The Catholic League's Bill Donohue blasted the L.A. Times in a Tuesday press release for hyping the recent protest of a dozen left-wing protesters objecting to Pope Francis's decision to canonize 18th-century missionary Juinipero Serra. By contrast, the liberal newspaper failed to cover the thousands of pro-lifers who marched in Los Angeles on January 17, 2015.

Comedy Central's double standard on humor was glaring on late Wednesday/early Thursday, after it dropped comedian Artie Lange from its @midnight program for his disturbing, racially-tinged sex fantasy about an ESPN host (which he tried to explain away as "comedy"). However, the same episode of the game show-style show featured a beyond sacrilegious round that slimed Catholic priests, along with Jesus; and even made an anti-Semitic joke.

On his May 16 program, liberal comedian and avowed atheist Bill Maher insulted a holy sacrament of the faith of billions of people worldwide in a disturbingly crude joke involving, essentially, sexually predatory extraterrestrial alien priests [See video below. MP3 audio here].
The occasion for the so-called joke was news that Pope Francis said that in the hypothetical situation that life existed on other planets and an extraterrestrial asked him to be baptized, he would perform the baptismal rite for the alien. “New rule: Don't scare off the aliens before they even get here,” cracked Maher on his Real Time program, adding:

On Thursday's New Day, CNN's Chris Cuomo hammered the Catholic League's Bill Donohue for his opposition to same-sex "marriage" and his support of the now-vetoed SB 1062 in Arizona. Cuomo mouthed the talking points of the social left on LGBT issues: "Why do you want to discriminate against gays? You say, we don't...only the marriages bother us. But that's the same thing, because their right as an individual is to marry."

As NewsBusters previously reported, HBO's Real Time this past Friday once again featured some truly disgusting attacks on the Pope, priests, and the Catholic Church. This has led the Catholic League to formally request HBO and Time Warner fire host Bill Maher and cancel the show.

CNN's Chris Cuomo turned a discussion on Pope Francis' recent interview into an ugly personal attack and sharp lecture of his guest, the Catholic League's Bill Donohue, on Friday's New Day.
The fracas began when Cuomo lectured Donohue on the Pope's statement that the ultimate focus of the church is "salvation" and not one particular moral issue. He said "it really sounds like you're one of the people [Francis] is sending this message to, to be fair, Mr. Donohue, isn't it?" Cuomo clearly had a bone to pick with his guest.

Behar insisted that the Roman Catholic church made a terrible, mystifying mistake by selecting a pope who “was in the Hitler Youth.”
Democratic strategist Robert Zimmerman implied that the membership wasn’t entirely voluntary, but Behar wasn’t budging that his compulsory membership should have completely disqualified him from the papacy. (Rich Noyes video and transcript below.)
