Bill Kristol Slams New York Times Publisher Arthur Sulzberger: ‘Mr. Liberal, Mr. Democrat’

Appearing as a guest on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Bill Kristol, editor of the conservative publication the Weekly Standard, mocked liberals’ outrage over the firing of Jill Abramson as editor of The New York Times. 

Speaking on Sunday, May 18, Kristol remarked that liberals should be angry at one person, Arthur Sulzberger, publisher of the New York Times: “Who is the they that's treating them [women] that way? Arthur Sulzberger. Mr. liberal, Mr. Democrat, Mr. political correctness.” [See video below.]

On the final day of last week's Republican National Convention in Tampa, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky sat down with NewsBusters to discuss amongst other things our favorite topic - liberal media bias.

Ira Stoll dissected the New York Times’ s latest outburst of “sheer hypocrisy masquerading as journalism,” a Sunday front-page attack on the tax-shelter practices of Ronald Lauder, in a Monday post at the New York Sun website -- “Owners of New York Times Used Tax Loopholes the Paper Scored Ambassador Lauder for Using.”

 

A decade ago Stoll established Smarter Times, an influential blog of New York Times criticism, before becoming editor of the right-of-center newspaper The New York Sun. The Sun is only an online product now, but Stoll is keeping his hand in Times criticism. At a media summit in London on Wednesday, New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger predicted the Times will eventually go out of print (and become a wholly online/digital publication). But Times Home section contributor Anne Raver has uncovered a possible alternative use for the dead tree version of the paper: Compost.
BMI's Dan Gainor Appears on 'Fox and Friends' to Discuss 'If You Were a Terrorist...' Blog at NY Times

Business & Media Institute director Dan Gainor appeared on "Fox and Friends" this morning to talk about a blog posting by Freakanomics blogger Steven D. Levitt that asked, "If You Were a Terrorist, How Would You Attack?"

"This from the media right after they were criticizing how Rupert Murdoch might run The Wall Street Journal. Why doesn't anyone in the mainstream media criticize how The New York Times is run by Arthur Sulzberger," Gainor told Fox News Channel viewers.

Gainor also pointed out that Levitt was trying, "to get as much possible press...and The New York Times is loving it."
