Brent Bozell on Friday mocked the liberal media, saying journalists would have fainted if Barack Obama had saved the Carrier jobs that Donald Trump preserved. He also pointed out the hypocrisy of reporters who ignore the current President saying the positions would never be saved. Appearing on Fox News, the MRC President reminded, “If I'm a journalist covering this issue, why am I not covering the fact that the President-elect succeeded? The President who is stepping down ridiculed him for this. That's a real story. And you're not going to see that covered anywhere. Fox had it, but nobody else had it.”
On her MSNBC show on Friday, anchor Andrea Mitchell decried the fact that the usual liberal identity politics did not work with voters in November’s election. Talking to Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd, she fretted over the revelation that campaign focus groups “showed that people related to Hillary Clinton as a man.”
Not everyone in the news media cheered on the November jobs report. Fox Business Network (FBN) anchor Stuart Varney criticized the report’s numbers on Dec. 2.
You don’t often hear this kind of bluntness on MSNBC. But Morning Joe co-host Joe Scarborough on Friday lashed out at journalistic coverage of the 2016 race, saying, “If you get it wrong as consistently as the media has gotten it wrong, then at some point Americans just turn off the media. They stop listening to us!” While discussing President-elect Donald Trump’s “Thank You Tour,” Scarborough and his panelists became introspective over the media’s failure to predict the state of the race.
CBS This Morning on Friday promoted a push by members of the Rockefeller family and others to attack ExxonMobil over climate change. Left out of the report? Any mention of the partisan Democrat and avowed liberal ties to the effort. Regarding claims that the company underplayed the threat of global warming, reporter Don Dahler talked to David Kaiser, the grandson of David Rockefeller.
Reporting on the contentious exchange between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s campaign aides at a Harvard University forum, on Friday’s NBC Today, correspondent Andrea Mitchell touted the defeated Democratic nominee’s team whining about media coverage of the presidential race.
In the hours following President-elect Donald Trump’s Thursday night post-election rally, the liberal media’s utter inability to control their emotions could have united even the most ardent Never Trump supporters with examples like MSNBC national correspondent Joy Reid suddenly showing reservations about a president and his immediate family lacking military service despite it being the case for two of the last three First Families (Clinton and Obama).
Appearing as a guest on Thursday's The Daily Show on Comedy Central, liberal comedian Chelsea Handler slammed women who refused to vote for Hillary Clinton as she declared that "there's something wrong with you," and cracked that women need to "get rid of" their husbands because they are "listening to their husbands too much." She also complained that women should have supported Clinton "whether you f****** like her or not."
Minutes after President-Elect Donald Trump’s “Thank You Tour” rally in Cincinnati, Ohio Thursday night CNN commentator, and former White House adviser, David Gergen voiced his displeasure for the man during Anderson Cooper 360. “I think there was any doubt that we’re putting an end in one chapter in American history and moving on to a new one he dispelled that doubt tonight,” he whined after bemoaning, “The alpha male reappeared tonight.”
Sparks flew during CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront Thursday evening, as New York Times columnist, and radical leftist, Charles Blow announced how he really feels about supporters of the president-elect. “The flaw in that is that you assume that I care what his supporters think,” blow exclaimed to conservative radio host Ben Ferguson. Blow’s dismissal came after he denounced Donald Trump, saying everything he says “reeks of fraudulence.”
On Thursday's CNN Newsroom, Carol Costello hyped the possible impact to taxpayers for President-Elect Donald Trump's role in getting Carrier to stay in Indiana: "Donald Trump delivering on his vow to save Carrier jobs, and his economic team says it will deliver a lot more — but at what cost?" Costello brought on two Trump critics from both sides of the aisle, but didn't bring on any supporters. She also touted Senator Bernie Sanders blasting the deal, and later played up a possible "slippery slope" impacting Indiana residents.
On Thursday's New Day on CNN, during a pre-recorded segment with several Donald Trump supporters, CNN's Alisyn Camerota brought up a clip of Lieutenant General Michael Flynn discussing radical Islam in which it appeared that he was claiming Islam in general is a "cancer." As previously documented by NewsBusters, over the past few weeks, CNN has taken clips from two of Flynn's speeches -- omitting the words "radical Islam" which would have helped clarify that he was referring to extreme factions of Islam -- and presented the clips as controversial statements made by the incoming National Security Advisor for a Trump administration.
Ironically, moments after using an edited clip of Flynn, the CNN host was seen reading and appearing to agree with complaints -- which seem to have come from an article at Mediaite -- that Fox Business Network edited some of President Barack Obama's words from an interview in which the President -- even with the words in place -- left an impression with many that he was encouraging illegal immigrants to vote, in spite of it being illegal for non-citizens to do so.
