Sad news today (Tuesday) that M. Stanton Evans, newspaper editor, founder of the National Journalism Center, conservative leader and author who wrote ten books, passed away at age 80. In 2006, Stan rewarded the Media Research Center and our audience, at the 2006 MRC Gala and DisHonors Awards, by accepting in jest, on behalf of Rosie O’Donnell, the “I’m Not a Political Genius But I Play One on TV Award.”

NewsBusters managing editor Ken Shepherd won the award for “Nonprofit Blogger of the Year” at Blog Bash Thursday night at Wolfgang Puck's Sunset Room near the Conservative Political Action Conference.

A new poll commissioned by the Media Research Center reveals that the tales Brian Williams told – which led to his eventual suspension without pay – have severely undermined his credibility with the American people.
In a survey of 1,007 respondents, 66.1% said Brian Williams should have been fired after he was caught in numerous lies. Williams famously lied about being in a helicopter that was shot down over Iraq and seeing a dead body float by his New Orleans hotel during Hurricane Katrina. An overwhelming 71.6% of respondents said that despite the anchorman's apology and suspension, he should still resign.

Appearing on Saturday's Fox & Friends on Fox News, Media Research Center research director Rich Royes detailed the utter failure of several media predictions about 2015. From The New York Times estimating huge budget surpluses for the U.S. government to CNN warning of a real-life war on women, Noyes told hosts Tucker Carlson and Peter Johnson just how wrong the liberal press was in its prognosticating.
Appearing on Fox News's Hannity Thursday night, NewsBusters publisher and Media Research Center president Brent Bozell condemned the network news for its lack of coverage of the brutal oppression of Fidel Castro's communist regime in the wake of President Obama reopening diplomatic relations with Cuba: "[Castro] has been a mythological figure to the left-wing press since the 1950s. They – for 40 years they've chosen to ignore the repressive nature of this Stalinist regime that has done so much to try to harm America."

NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham appeared Tuesday night on “Cavuto” on the Fox Business Channel to discuss former ABC reporter Ann Compton’s revelation that President Obama unleashed angry, even “profanity-laced” tirades at the press in off-the-record briefings.
"My guess in this case, it's safe to uncork a profanity laced tirade when you’re off the record,” Graham said. “I would argue that it was probably designed to get them to stop saying anhing about so-called Obama scandals on the air or in their newspapers. It’s winning through intimidation.”

While liberal media bias certainly doesn't help matters when it comes to assigning "blame" for government shutdowns, Media Research Center president Brent Bozell told Fox News host Neil Cavuto this afternoon that the real problem is "Republicans themselves are blaming themselves" by running as far as they can from the possibility of using a government shutdown as leverage for addressing President Obama's executive amnesty overreach.

MRC's Rich Noyes appeared on Fox Business' Varney & Co. to discuss the media's lack of coverage of Jonathan Gruber mocking the stupidity of the American public as being influential to getting ObamaCare passed.

On Wednesday, NewsBusters executive editor Tim Graham appeared on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Company to discuss how the media have virtually ignored video of ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber mocking the 'stupid voters' for helping the Obama administration's efforts to pass ObamaCare.
Varney also mentioned media coverage of the "major" climate deal between Obama and China.

"If it hurts the narrative of the Obama administration, it's just not covered." That's how Media Research Center president Brent Bozell summed up the stunning findings of the latest MRC study, which shows a tremendous disparity in how the liberal broadcast networks covered the 2006 midterms as opposed to this years.
On Thursday, the Fox News Channel’s (FNC) The Five spent part of its program discussing the latest study from the Media Research Center, which detailed the vast disparity in stories filed by the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC on their evening newscasts in the lead-ups to both the 2006 and 2014 midterm elections.
Co-host Eric Bolling introduced the study and its findings in the show’s second segment: “A new Media Research Center study shows the network evening newscasts have essentially blacked out bad election news for Democrats.”

In a commentary segment on the October 22 edition of his eponymous Fox Business Network program, Lou Dobbs cited a brand-new study by the Media Research Center contrasting the liberal network media's coverage of the 2014 midterms, which is likely to be a Republican wave election tossing Democrats out of power in the Senate, with the 2006 election, in which the media practically cheered on the Democrats as they tossed the GOP out of control of both houses of Congress.
