Using clips from the 1973 Watergate hearings, MSNBC’s Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell went off on Wednesday at the House Select Committee on Benghazi for failing to exhibit the Watergate committee’s professionalism and instead being “oblivious and uninhibited” in creating a hearing that he promises will “waste enormous amounts of time on irrelevant questions.”

The “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC punted Tuesday night on news that Senate Democrats successfully blocked legislation aimed at cracking down on sanctuary cities. Doing the job the networks could have been doing, Fox Business Network (FBN) host Lou Dobbs alerted his views on Tuesday to the story that he described as “business as usual” with “Senate Republican leadership permitting Senate Democrats to successfully filibuster Republican legislation that would have cracked down on sanctuary cities.”

On Tuesday night, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC applauded the victory Monday night by the leftist Liberal Party in Canada and leader Justin Trudeau, whom they declared to be the country’s “young, new leader” possessing “a little northern star power.” In contrast, when looking at reelection victories earlier in the year by the right-leaning David Cameron in the United Kingdom and Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel, the networks were far less kind and chastised the pair for an “undercurrent of nastiness” and “hard-line rhetoric” coming “at a price.”

Finally getting his chance to interview Hillary Clinton on Friday’s The Lead, CNN anchor Jake Tapper didn’t exactly measure up as while he did what other reporters failed to do in asking Clinton about her relationship with Sidney Blumenthal, he cozied up to her on the recent marking of her and Bill’s 40th wedding anniversary plus sarcastically asking he could “get your e-mail address.”

While the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC all prominently touted on Monday President Obama’s defense of Hillary Clinton on her e-mail scandal in a 60 Minutes interview, none of the three dared to report later in the week how the Obama administration largely walked it back by declaring that Obama believes Clinton’s private e-mail server “does not pose a threat to national security” “based on what has been made public” so far.

On Friday, Salon featured two articles taking fire to presidential candidate Ted Cruz. Authored by Heather Digby Parton, one piece was titled, “Paranoid Rise of the Militant Right: Inside the Growing Threat of Domestic Extremism” and examined the Department of Justice’s new focus on domestic extremists, and the author zeroed in on right-wing extremism. The second was written by Simon Maloy, who offered the slippery-slope argument against Cruz under the title, "Ted Cruz's Crazy 'Jackboot' Talk: When Inflammatory Rhetoric Starts Getting Dangerous."

Thursday, Venkatesh Rao wrote in the Atlantic that "Solving Climate Change Will Be Like Mobilizing for War." Rao examined multiple points in history where businesses and scientific experts worked together to overcome barriers and change society through innovation. However, he then declared Climate Change to be too big for those forces after the recent Volkswagen Scandal of rigging technology to misrepresent the fuel emissions. Seeing this deception as a threat to civilization, Rao suggested totalitarian options to fix the problem, eventually accepting international governance and reliance on bureaucrats to be "professional" in their job to save us from Climate Change.

The "mainstream media" came under attack at Salon.com on Tuesday. Paul Rosenberg raged against the Associated Press for refusing to use the term ‘climate denier’ after activists on the Left demanded that. Rosenberg argued that denier was more appropriate than skeptic or doubter, and gave undeserved legitimacy to the skeptic movement. Rosenberg would continue on to describe how Climate Change, or in this case, Global Warming, would lead to more fatalities than the Holocaust, claiming that Climate Denial is worse than Holocaust Denial.
