Even Us Magazine is noticing movie star Gwyneth Paltrow oozing all over President Obama at a $32,500-a-head fundraiser in her back yard on Thursday: “overcome with nerves, the actress stumbled a little before passing the microphone off to the President, telling him flirtatiously, ‘You're so handsome that I can't speak properly.’”

That came after she declared "I am one of your biggest fans, if not the biggest," before praising him for being an "incredible role model." While Obama’s approval rating is in the dumps – in general and on specific issues – he could probably use some of that old 2008 bowing and scraping.

Actor Viggo Mortensen hasn’t been in any big movies since he played Aragorn in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, but now he’s promoting his new movie with Kirsten Dunst called “The Two Faces of January.” He stopped by Huffington Post Live September 16, to talk about the movie, but if a Huffington Post reporter is interviewing, you can be sure they will find a way to bash conservative media any chance they get.

As the interview turned to the actor’s past expressed liberal opinions, Mortensen lamented how most people only turn to media that reaffirms their own viewpoints, but claimed he was different because he tried to listen to right-wing news, but it was so offensive he can only listen in “small doses.” He called liberal radio is not as "brazen a form of lying" as Fox News.

Somebody takes Russell Brand seriously. You know, the British comic actor? The one known mostly for his brief marriage to pop star Katy Perry? He’s that guy that did the abysmal remake of the classic movie “Arthur.” Maybe you know him for his drug use?

Anyway, people actually watch Brand’s Youtube video channel, “The Trews,” for his take on the issues of the day. The Huffington Post, NPR, Upworthy, The Washington Post and The Guardian have published his opinions. That’s despite (or more likely because) the fact that those opinions are unoriginal, often hate-filled, intolerant left-wing rants that run to conspiracy theories about corporations and “power structures.” He’s a celebrity of sorts eager to communicate opinions that news and entertainment media elites mostly share, so they’re happy to give him a platform. 

Billy Crystal held it together for a heart-warming tribute to Robin Williams at the Emmy Awards: "The brilliance was astounding. The relentless energy was kind of thrilling. I used to think if I could just put a saddle on him and stay on him for eight seconds I was going to do okay.”

But The Independent (U.K.) noticed that on Twitter, Williams was denounced as “racist” for a routine in which he mocked a woman in a hijab in Iran saying “Help me!” That’s apparently racist? Making a little fun that perhaps a woman in Iran wouldn't feel liberated?

“What really gets” actress Chloe Grace Moretz “going” is Hillary Clinton, a USA Today reporter discovered in meeting her for a profile piece on the 17-year-old star of If I Stay, the movie which opened yesterday (Friday) that’s based on the young adult novel by Gayle Forman.
