Newly minted NBC late night host Seth Meyers took a cheap shot at members of Congress on the Friday March 14th edition of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
During an interview with “Cosmos” presenter Neil deGrasse Tyson, Meyers laughed at his guest who argued that those that “don’t know science in the 21st century” should “just move back to the cave because that’s where we are going to leave you as we move forward.” [See video below.]
MSNBC’s primetime darling Rachel Maddow has an obsession with attacking conservatives, especially if they are associated with the presidency of George W. Bush. Whether it’s using her nightly program or her appearances across the NBC platform, Maddow seems to never miss an opportunity to attack former Bush officials.
Appearing as a guest on the company's Late Night w/ Seth Meyers on Tuesday March 12 for some much needed free publicity, Maddow, who recently had a cameo appearance on the popular Netflix show “House of Cards”, chose to obnoxiously compare the fictional character of Frank Underwood to former Vice President Dick Cheney. Speaking to Meyers, Maddow joked how “In real life I don't feel I discomfit villains ever. I've spent my entire life trying to annoy Dick Cheney enough into talking to me.” [See video below.]
Given the shellacking Barack Obama took at last week's presidential debate with Mitt Romney, one would have thought NBC's Saturday Night Live would have had no difficulty finding material to spoof the event.
Not so according to New York magazine which published a piece Monday entitled "Unlike the Rest of the World, SNL Had a Hard Time Joking About the Debate":
Greg Gutfeld on Monday attacked comics for not making jokes about the current White House resident.
Appearing on Fox News's The Five, Gutfeld said, "Asking a comedian to make fun of Obama is like asking a priest to mock Christ" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):
People familiar with the Huffington Post are quite aware of numerous complaints against the online publication regarding content theft.
NBC's Saturday Night Live surprisingly referenced this issue in a Weekend Update sketch mocking editor Arianna Huffington (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
"Saturday Night Live's" Seth Meyers headlined Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner, and somewhat surprisingly went after media outlets on both sides of the aisle.

As NewsBusters has been reporting all week, the media have used the occasion of George W. Bush's published memoirs "Decision Points" to rekindle their hatred for the 43rd president.
Not surprisingly, NBC's "Saturday Night Live" took its shots at Bush by uniting him with Kanye West during "Weekend Update" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

On Saturday, Seth Meyers’ “Weekend Update” bit featured a sketch with Fred Armisen playing New York’s Democratic Governor David Paterson.
I thought Sarah Palin did more than fine on Saturday Night Live [Noel's got the video here]. In particular, during her Weekend Update appearance Palin displayed a speaking poise and polish exceeding that of the other candidates on both tickets. But Republicans who agree to appear on such shows put themselves in the lap of the liberal media gods. And those lesser deities abused their power last night, running a nasty joke at Clarence Thomas's expense during Weekend Update shortly before Palin appeared.
