Whoopi Gives Lame Reason For Opposing Release of CIA ‘Torture’ Report

On Tuesday, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and the Democratically controlled Senate Intelligence Committee released a controversial report detailing the CIA’s enhanced interrogation program used against suspected terrorists in the years after 9/11.

The report has drawn criticism from Republicans and many in the intelligence community but on ABC’s The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg offered up a bizarre reason for opposing it’s release. Goldberg argued “I don't mind that it comes out. I don’t think right now during the holidays when parents are not paying attention at the malls and kids are running around because they're out of school.”

Rosie O'Donnell is a "malcontent" and nobody on the cast and crew of The View likes her, according to the entertainment site TMZ. The report asserted, "Our sources say Rosie has been impossibly rude to members of the cast and crew, both on and off camera...The ratings are down and execs are blaming Rosie."

On Sunday, actor and political commentator Ben Stein appeared on Fox News and made some highly controversial remarks about President Obama, accusing him of being “the most racist president there has ever been in America.” Following Stein’s offensive comments, on Tuesday, all four co-hosts on The View rightly criticized the actor, and unsurprisingly Rosie O'Donnell took her condemnation to a whole new level. Rosie proclaimed that “it was on Fox News which I think just likes to incite a lot of hate and is not always factually correct."

ABC's The View, a show featuring a woman who believes the United States government may have been involved in the September 11th, 2001 attacks, will now be overseen by the network's news division, according to Variety. ABC News President James Goldston announced, "Moving ‘The View’ to our non-fiction programming group now allows it to fully draw on the vast resources of ABC News and our team in New York, where the show is based right next door."

But so did former Republican operative and co-host Nicolle Wallace. Hardly representing the right, Wallace enthused, "Senator Elizabeth Warren has become a rock star in American politics!"

For a show called The View, the program's hosts on Friday all have the same opinion: The Catholic Church needs to change. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg highlighted pop singer Ariana Grande's decision to leave her church because of alleged intolerance towards her gay brother. Fellow-co-host Rosie Perez announced, "I'm a recovering Catholic."   Rosie O'Donnell explained, "I, like you, am a recovering Catholic."
