Can anyone honestly claim that Larry David seemed serious when he yelled "you're a racist" at Donald Trump on last night's SNL? Trick question: I said "honestly." Enter Washington Post TV critic Hank Stuever who in his review of Trump's SNL appearance last night [subtly headlined "Trump’s sorry night on ‘SNL’: An overhyped bummer for us all'], actually claimed that that David's "racist" cry seemed "genuine enough." But if ever an actor went out of his way to signal that he was simply spoofing, it was David.

Have a look at the clip, and you'll see that--far from expressing genuine outrage--David at one point struggled to keep a straight face. And when Trump asked him what he was doing, David sheepishly shrugged his shoulders and threw out his arms in apologetic explanation, saying he "had to do it" because they promised him $5,000. "Genuine enough?" How about "obviously acting?"

In an interview with Donald Trump on Thursday’s NBC Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered why the Republican presidential candidate accepted an invitation to host Saturday Night Live: “As you are perfectly aware, there are Latino groups that are outside protesting NBC and SNL because you are hosting this weekend. Are you surprised that SNL asked you to host after there was this acrimonious split with NBC back in the summer? And why did you accept?”

Former Saturday Night Live cast member, Nora Dunn, is very upset over the fact that Donald Trump is hosting that show this Saturday. So upset to the point of incoherence. She tries to make the case against Trump but pretty much all she can come up with is she doesn't like him. While explaining her dislike of Trump, Dunn wanders off into semi-coherent psychobabble which makes one wonder if there was a shrink sitting beside her couch taking notes as she wanders slightly in and mostly out of topic for paragraph after paragraph. Of course, during her extended ramble not one word of objection to the recent appearance of Hillary Clinton on SNL.

So here is Nora Dunn at the Huffington Post taking a long, long time to explain why Trump shouldn't host SNL because she plain doesn't like his politics:

On Wednesday's New Day, Jamie Gangel broke CNN's routine of hounding Republican/conservative guests with a mostly non-confrontational interview of Jeb Bush. Gangel only mildly pressed the GOP presidential candidate on the issue of his recent move to target competitor Marco Rubio: "You went after him [Rubio] for missing votes. But he hit back, and some people think he got the better of the moment. Was it a mistake to attack him on that?" She later labeled Bush "a decent man...a hard-working man...[and] a fixer as governor with a great reputation."

It was Republican bashing all around on CBS This Morning, Tuesday. Bloomberg journalist and author John Heilemann appeared on the show and knocked the “xenophobic” Donald Trump and the “roundly mocked” Jeb Bush. Heilemann allowed that “There are people who really like the way he [Trump] talks about China, the way he talks about immigration, the kind of nationalist, some would say xenophobic” rhetoric.
