An enormous development in the Bridgegate scandal broke late Thursday afternoon when federal officials reported that they have cleared New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) of any wrong-doing relating to the closure of lanes on the George Washington Bridge in September 2013.

When it came to the major broadcast networks covering this huge development, ABC and CBS punted on the story and refused to cover it in their Thursday night newscasts. NBC Nightly News did cover the story, however, but only in the form of a news brief that lasted for 38 seconds.

What would you call an angry heckler who hurls insults at a Republican? According to the hosts of CBS This Morning, the answer is "a reporter." The journalists on Wednesday played footage of a protester sparring with Chris Christie over his use of Bruce Springsteen music at rallies. New Jersey resident Sandra Booket yelled, "I thought I heard that Bruce asked that none of his music was played at your events because he didn't believe in your politics."

Christie retorted, "No, you're wrong in, fact, I saw Bruce just a week and a half ago." He added, "If you're going to be cute, we should get the story right." The woman so impressed co-host Vinita Nair that she marveled, "[Booket] sounded like a reporter didn't she? She just kept going." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

It has been over three weeks since The New York Times published a front-page investigation unmasking the actions of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) shuttering an anti-corruption commission. In reaction, the U.S. Attorney has now begun investigating Cuomo’s administration for possible “witness tampering and obstruction of justice,” according to The New York Post.

Despite these serious allegations, CNN has all but ignored the story. The cable news outlet completely ignored the Cuomo scandal until it aired a single tease and report on August 7 during The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer

Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) visited Iowa on Wednesday to help raise money for Governor Terry Branstad (R-IA) and test the 2016 political waters but the “big three” networks did their best to diminish his visit to the Hawkeye state.

Starting with NBC Nightly News on Wednesday night, anchor Brian Williams introduced a story on Christie by playing up how “the New York Times calls the trip a delicate post lane closing political strategy for the governor who has been hurt by the G.W. Bridge scandal back home in New Jersey.” [See video below.]

On Tuesday, continuing MSNBC’s obsession with Chris Christie,  Rachel Maddow attacked the Republican New Jersey governor for his position on guns. Christie recently vetoed a bill that would have reduced the number of bullets in a gun magazine from 15 to 10, much to the chagrin of The Rachel Maddow Show host.

Maddow rejected Christie’s argument that the measure could ultimately lead to a ban on guns entirely. He asserted that “If you take the logical conclusion of their argument, you go to zero, because every life is valuable. And so why ten? Why not six? Why not two? Why not one? Why not zero? Why not just ban guns completely?” Maddow shrugged this off, mocking Christie: "Why save anybody? If you're not going to save everybody, why save anybody? Such favoritism.” Then, Maddow ended her rant by attacking Christie one final time: [MP3 audio here; video below]

It's only July of 2014, but two panelists on the Morning Joe program expressed concern during Thursday's edition that people within the media are already suffering from “Clinton Exhaustion” even though the former secretary of state has yet to announce whether she will be a candidate in the 2016 presidential election.

If that's the case, then one of the worst offenders is the staff of that MSNBC morning show, which usually finds a way to spend up to 15 minutes a day discussing the latest “news” about Hillary Clinton, ranging from her “Hard Choices” book -- which is suffering from poor sales -- to question if she's a victim of “sexism” and “ageism.”

Joy Behar, the grating liberal feminist comedian, left ABC’s “The View,” but she’s still being obnoxious. At an April 1 roast celebrating the 90th birthday of former New Jersey Gov. Brendan Byrne, a Democrat, Behar went straight to Bridgegate: “When I first learned he was blamed for blocking three lanes on the bridge, I said ‘What the hell is he doing, standing in the middle of the bridge?”

In a subheadline, Time magazine blamed Christie for failing to enjoy it: “The New Jersey governor appeared to have a sense of humor failure as the former host of The View joked about his ongoing bridge scandal.” As you might expect, Christie shot back (video below):

"Jimmy Carter says that he believes the government is monitoring his emails. Of course they are, Jimmy… where else do you think the Obama administration gets all their brilliant policy positions?"

Liberal MSNBC guest Donny Deutsch made some bizarre comments during his appearance on “Morning Joe” on Tuesday April 1 regarding the Chris Christie “Bridgegate” scandal.

Speaking to the “Morning Joe” panel, Deutsch asserted that regarding “Bridgegate” he couldn’t “remember anything more egregious, interestingly enough that a politician has done.” Furthermore, Deutsch argued that the Chris Christie scandal was much worse than any of the sex scandals involving President Bill Clinton because that “didn’t affect me.” [See video below.]

New York Times political correspondent turned left-wing editorial writer David Firestone unleashed a fiery attack on a GOP donor in an inflammatory nytimes.com post Monday afternoon: "The Line to Kiss Sheldon Adelson's Boots."

The very thought of Republican politicians speaking at a Las Vegas meeting of an Adelson-backed lobbying group made Firestone want to retch:

How bad are things for Meet The Press?  The once-dominant Sunday show has fallen into a distant third place. And now Mika Brzezinski has resorted to an embarrassing attempt to revive her network's failing patient.

On today's Morning Joe, Mika managed to mention Meet The Press by name no fewer than eight times in one segment. Her argument was that MTP is the go-to place for politicians wanting to make news, and that Chris Christie had blown it by not appearing yesterday, sending two surrogates instead.  View the video after the jump.

"The Navy has come up with a drone that can predict the weather several months in advance. Which is not to be confused with Al Gore -- a drone who says he can predict the weather a hundred years in advance."

Chris Christie, Hillary Clinton, illegal immigrants on ObamaCare, and a drunk-driving Capt. Kirk also made Jodi's strike list for this Friday's NewsBusted, NewsBusters's own original comedy short on YouTube. To watch the March 28 edition, click play on the embed below the page break.
