Despite the liberal media's disinterest in pursuing investigations into Barack Obama's scandals, the case of Republican Chris Christie proves the existence of a blatant double standard. The New Jersey Governor, who will announce his presidential bid on Tuesday, endured a media frenzy when the Bridgegate scandal erupted 17 months ago. And, when they're not impugning him as a Nixonian crook, liberal reporters have made fun of Christie's weight.

On CNBC’s Squawk Box on May 21, GOP presidential hopeful Chris Christie argued that the media’s coverage of Hillary Clinton’s political scandals compared to his own was “absurd.” 

“If I had come out, the day after the BridgeGate thing was announced, and said ‘by the way, all my emails are on a private server, and I deleted a whole bunch of them, and I destroyed the server, but you need to take my word for it. The emails had nothing to do with the bridge stuff.” Can you even imagine what would the reaction have been?” 

Timer ready? Go!: foreign countries and rich people gave millions to the Clinton Foundation and/or paid Bill big bucks to give speeches. In return, Hillary's State Department pushed policies favorable to them.  And, stop!  I timed that at exactly eleven seconds.

On today's Morning Joe, Mike Barnicle made the absurd claim that the shady dealings described in Clinton Cash, officially out today, won't hurt Hillary much because they're too hard for Americans to understand.  "I challenge you to explain in one or two minutes to, you know, anyone, what is going on here with the Clintons and all this foundation money."

While the journalists at Good Morning America on Friday hyped details on the "devastating" Bridgegate scandal that is creating a "headache" for Chris Christie's 2016 presidential bid, they avoided the latest on the unfolding revelations enveloping the Clinton Foundation and its foreign donors. However, CBS This Morning reporters actually followed up with Nancy Cordes alerting viewers that "the foundation acknowledged the week it did not disclose 1,100 mostly foreign donors" and that the organization "did not inform State Department ethics officials when foreign governments increased their donations." 

In a Wednesday interview with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie – aired in full on Thursday morning – NBC's Today co-host Matt Lauer grilled the potential 2016 contender on the year-old Bridgegate controversy: "...we could be talking during a week where indictments could be handed down in what has now become known as Bridgegate....How much, in real terms, has Bridgegate tarnished you Governor?"
