With New Year’s Eve upon us, NBC’s Today dedicated a segment in its 9:00 a.m. hour on Thursday to looking back at the year in news, politics, and entertainment. Not surprisingly, the liberal network made no mention of the Planned Parenthood baby parts video scandal, Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail server, the Clinton Foundation scandal, and Benghazi to name just a few.
Bruce Jenner
Olympic medalist turned transgender activist "Caitlyn."

Comcast is now using the “public service announcement” to push its leftist LGBT agenda. NBC Universal made an ad starring “Caitlyn” Jenner and fellow transgender activist Chandi Moore to mark the “Transgender Day of Remembrance" to remember those who died due to "anti-transgender hatred and prejudice."
Jenner concluded with action items: “Listen to trans people’s stories. Hire a trans person in your company. Support a trans person at your school. Love your trans child. Let’s all take action to put an end to hate and violence.”

Word on the street is that ESPN is planning to lay off "200 to 300" employees in the coming months.
The go-to euphemism surrounding the impending layoffs, according to Variety's Brian Steinberg, is "the changing media landscape," primarily the "cord-cutting" phenomenon. In July, the Big Lead blog, in discussing Keith Olbermann's expected departure from ESPN, explained that "millennials are eschewing expensive cable TV bills and streaming everything online." While that might explain flat viewership or even a modest decline, cord-cutting is only a minor part of the problem. Someone needs to explain why ESPN's ratings have fallen by a stunning 30 percent in the past 12 months.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti apparently doesn’t think Bruce Jenner has won enough laurels in his heroic struggle against biology, so the mayor is recommending that Jenner headline an event with a wee bit more visibility than his foundering E! Channel reality series.

It's fine for a biological man to self-identify as a woman, but as a conservative? That's taking things a bit too far for liberal outlets. Add the New York Times to the long list of those offended by the right-leaning politics of the former Bruce Jenner, who now identifies as a female Caitlyn. The Times' activism has trickled down in heavy-handed fashion to the Artsbeat section, which is running recaps of the episodes of Jenner's reality show, "I Am Cait," dominated by left-wing trans-activist Casey Plett's disapproval of Jenner's "infuriatingly heartless" views, daring to suggest that welfare payments shouldn't be the first option for transsexual youth looking for work.

Prediction: Al Hunt will pay no price for calling Donald Trump the "Caityln Jenner of American politics." But can you imagine the outraged reaction on the left if a conservative commentator had said something similar about Hillary for her changing positions on everything from the Iraq war to gay marriage?
Reacting to Hunt's crack on Morning Joe today, Joe Scarborough told Hunt "I think I can get you a job at Fox," an allusion to the tough questioning to which the Fox News panel subjected Trump last night.

On Monday's New Day, CNN's Michaela Pereira touted the "very moving" and "very touching" parts of the debut episode of Bruce "Caitlyn" Jenner's new reality TV series, I Am Cait. Both of Pereira's guests – a former People magazine editor and a "transgendered" actor – gushed over the "exciting" and "very effective" debut. The anchor later wondered if the series is "going to be catalyst for change in conversation and narrative in America."

Both ABC's World News Tonight and NBC's Nightly News on Thursday evening devoted full stories to Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner's acceptance speech at last night ESPY Awards. Although Jenner's receiving the award was controversial even among liberal supporters of transgender rights -- critics charged there were far more deserving potential recipients -- neither ABC's Elizabeth Vargas nor NBC's Hallie Jackson explored that angle.

Thursday's New Day on CNN played up how Bruce "Caitlyn" Jenner received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award from ESPN. Alisyn Camerota underlined that "it's an interesting moment in history. I think that it can't be underscored how important it is for that [transgender] community." Chris Cuomo spotlighted how Jenner used his acceptance speech "to call for tolerance, and to quiet critics." Cuomo also defended the honor: "It is often a platform to project different values into society that are born of sport. So why wouldn't it qualify?"

ESPN will continue promoting liberal agenda items on Wednesday at their annual ESPY Awards. Every year, they hand out the Arthur Ashe Courage Award to an individual or group whose accomplishments have “transcended” sports. This year’s recipient will be Bruce Jenner, who transcended reality and declared he’s a woman. Oh and he won that decathlon 40 years ago (as a man), so that’s why it’s related to sports.
"TV Land has pulled The Dukes of Hazzard amid the uproar over the Confederate flag. And in a show of solidarity, Caitlyn Jenner is now refusing to wear her Daisy Dukes." -- NewsBusted anchor Jodi Miller.

“Caitlyn” Jenner is now blogging for the Huffington Post.
At the beginning of the week, the news outlet revealed that Jenner will be authoring an original series called “The Real Me,” about LGBT issues.
