Day After San Bernardino Massacre, Barbara Boxer Says 'We've Proven' Gun Control Works in California

Democratic U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer of California today cited how her home state's "important gun safety laws" demonstrate that “Sensible gun laws work, we’ve proven it in California, and we're not going to give up." She apparently means that she and others who won't respect the Second Amendment are "not going to give up" on passing or imposing similar legislation or mandates nationally.

Ms. Boxer apparently failed to notice that San Bernardino, the site of yesterday's massacre of 14 at a San Bernardino County holiday party — with 21 others injured, many critically — is in her home state. A Republican or conservative making a similar observation almost immediateely after an event demonstrating an obviously contradictory point as Boxer did would be an object of relentless establishment press criticism and ridicule. But Boxer is a gun-grabbing leftist, so she'll likely get a near-complete pass. Video follows the jump.

In report that didn’t make the cut for Thursday’s CBS This Morning amidst the San Bernardino shooting coverage, the CBS Morning News aired congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes’s latest attempt to push gun control and lament how Congress is “reluctant to pass new control laws” with friendly soundbites from Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (Calif.) and Hillary Clinton.

NBC Piggybacks on Washington Post Piece Bashing Carly Fiorina over Campaign Debt

After filing a gooey piece on Hillary Clinton, Monday’s NBC Nightly News also gave airtime to the Republican field, but only in the context of attacking 2016 candidate Carly Fiorina over campaign debt she recently finished paying off from her failed 2010 Senate campaign (despite the fact that she’s far from the first to have debt).

Ultraliberal Senator Barbara Boxer appeared on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell show on Tuesday,  doing her darndest to try and create another fictional case of “the war against women” by defending Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards and her almost-$600,000 salary and taking pot-shots at presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina.
 
Mitchell gently asked Boxer “Do you think that that is an inappropriately high salary for someone working in women’s health services?” Boxer responded: “Absolutely, I do not think it is. If you look at CEO salaries across the board, and Cecile Richards essentially puts her life on the line in this job.”

A half hour prior to Wednesday's Republican presidential debate on CNN, Chris Matthews over on MSNBC's Hardball tag-teamed with California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer to trash Republican candidate Carly Fiorina, who unsuccessfully challenged Boxer in a 2010 Senate race. "Senator, I'm a big fan of yours," Matthews began, "So tell me what you think about tonight. I mean, you beat her, and here she is back going for president. Doesn't make sense. Your thoughts?"

Global warming alarmists have lost ground lately, but Congressional Democrats have implemented a new strategy: try to “silence” those with other views.

In separate instances, three Democratic senators and one Democratic representative have attempted to intimidate more than 100 companies, organizations and academics that diverge from the liberal view that climate change is catastrophic. The politicians have requested private information about their funding and asked for that documentation.

Appearing on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports on Wednesday, Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer lectured the liberal journalist for daring to ask about the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal: "Either you're going to listen to her and believe her that, in fact, she complied with the spirit and the letter of the law or you're not going to trust anything she says....And all of this, I think, is politics. I think it is sad. And most people want to hear what Hillary Clinton has to say about the issues."

About a month ago, The Washington Post reported that kiddie-TV host Bill Nye “the Science Guy” and other leftists put out an open letter demanding the media use the word “climate denier” instead of “climate skeptic” to describe Sen. Jim Inhofe and the conservative side of the global-warming debate. Apparently, the letter worked.

Friday’s Washington Post carried a very biased article by Ben Terris on Sen. Jim Inhofe, “the country’s most prominent climate-change denier.” The Post even used the “denier” phrase in its local radio ads, passing along the shock that a “denier” is chairing an environmental committee.

Time, LA Times, WaPo Suggest Liberal Billionaire Steyer as Boxer Replacement

Liberal billionaire Tom Steyer is considering running for Barbara Boxer’s U.S. Senate seat, according to Politico, and the media are thrilled. The media have pressured liberal billionaire Tom Steyer to run for office before, and as soon as Boxer’s seat opened up they began suggesting him as a viable replacement.

According to the Jan. 9 Politico piece, “[a]lmost as soon as Boxer announced that she would not seek reelection in 2016, Steyer began reviewing polling data and making calls to California labor and political figures, associates said. And he is consulting with the contacts he made while running two multi-million-dollar advocacy campaigns focused on statewide ballot measures in 2010 and 2012.”

NBC Nightly News Declines to Label Retiring California Senator Barbara Boxer a Liberal

In a news brief on Thursday, NBC Nightly News reported that one of Californi’s two Democratic Senators, Barbara Boxer, would not seek reelection in 2016 and instead retire following “a decade in the House” and her first election to the Senate in 1992. When it came to labeling where she stood politically, however, NBC shied away from labeling her a liberal or progressive. 

Instead, anchor Brian Williams told viewers that she was “one of the most prominent” Democrats and likely caused fellow “prominent California Democrats” to hold “a lot of meetings and phone calls today.” 

Laura Ingraham Slams Tepid Response to John Kerry's 'Apartheid' Comment

During Tuesday morning's edition of  the Fox & Friends program, conservative radio host Laura Ingraham hammered the lack of political fallout over secretary of state John Kerry's remarks that Israel could become an “apartheid” state if that nation doesn't adopt “a two-state solution” to achieve peace with their Palestinian neighbors.

“He's kind of apologized,” Ingraham noted before stating that on the other hand, the Left “rushes to demonize people who are either Republican or conservative who misspeak.” [See video below.]
