The exodus continues from “The View” after Joy, Elisabeth, and Barbara. TV Line reports Sherri Shepherd put out a statement saying she’s leaving, too. Jenny McCarthy also hinted on Twitter that “If Sherri goes, I go too.” Newsday's Verne Gay says the two women were "fired" by ABC. TMZ calls it a "massacre" and hints that Rosie O'Donnell may be coming back.

“The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively,” ABC said in its own statement.

Shepherd proclaimed “It’s been seven wonderful years on The View and after careful consideration it is time for me to move on. I am extremely grateful to Barbara Walters and Bill Gedde for giving me the opportunity. I look forward to the business opportunities that lay ahead for me and I am incredibly grateful to my View family and my fans for supporting me on this journey.”

McCarthy tweeted "My View will be changing too. As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year."

Hollie McKay at Fox News had a source who explained “Now that Barbara has retired, ABC has more autonomy to hire who they want for the show...But no matter what, Barbara will not let this show fail. She wants talent that will appeal to the daytime viewers.” McCarthy apparently didn't appeal to the daytime audience.
