Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin Mock Politico Hit Piece and 'Punk' Author

October 24th, 2010 10:17 AM

As NewsBusters reported Thursday, Politico's Jonathan Martin wrote a hit piece on former governor Sarah Palin leading Sean Hannity and Mark Levin to demand retractions of false sections in the article that involved them.

On Friday, Glenn Beck brought Palin on his radio program to assist him and his team in mocking Martin's claim that she frequently cancels interviews at the last minute and is "high maintenance" (video follows with transcript and commentary, h/t The Blaze):

GLENN: Sarah Palin is...

PAT: What?

STU: Are you kidding me?

GLENN: What?

PAT: Finally?

STU: Sarah Palin is coming on the show?

PAT: You called her an hour ago.

STU: After that book debacle where you just barely could get in touch with her.

PAT: It was an hour! This woman, she waited an hour before she got on the phone?

STU: So high maintenance, I can't

PAT: I am so sick of how demanding. Aren't you yet? Aren't you fed up? I'm done with it.

GLENN: No, we called her and she

PAT: Don't take this call. Don't take this call.

STU: Don't take it.

PAT: Don't take this call.

STU: Hang up on her.

PAT: Don't put her on. Don't put her on.

STU: This is unacceptable.

PAT: She is the most demanding person

GLENN: Like, what has she demanded?

PAT: ever dealt with. That we pick up the phone.

STU: Yeah.

GLENN: That we pick up the phone?

PAT: Yeah. Back in New York had to pick up the phone.

STU: Yeah.

GLENN: Did she demand that?

PAT: Don't put this woman on!

STU: Don't do it.

PAT: Don't do it, Glenn.

GLENN: Sarah, I don't know. We're breaking all kinds of rules. We don't usually deal with hothead and demanding figures like you.

PAT: Demanding high maintenance, mean, mean, mean people.

SARAH PALIN: I know, guys, and I have to apologize even for that hour will have passed the buck and we blame it on Trig. Trig needed food. He needed his business.

GLENN: Oh, jeez, here we go again.

PAT: Bring your baby into it.

GLENN: Did we need to book the whole first class section of some jumbo jet just to get you to the phone?

PAT: (Laughing).

SARAH PALIN: Sow, Lord.

GLENN: What did we have to put in your green room this time?

PAT: Remember last time at 8/28?

GLENN: Yeah.

PAT: She asked for... nothing?

STU: Nothing.

PAT: Remember that?

GLENN: That's exactly what.

PAT: Yes.

GLENN: That's exactly what you don't want. Now everybody was so stressed out because they were like, she didn't ask for anything. So we've got to put everything in here.

PAT: We've got to put everything in here. You knew that's what she meant.

SARAH PALIN: I'll tell you, I'll tell you, as you know, Glenn, that whole scenario that surrounds one as they are trying to get out there doing the job and then to have just the BS written about you, go through every single day.

GLENN: You know what? I actually demand and I don't know if you I'm sorry. I don't know if you saw this yesterday. I actually demanded a retraction and an apology from Politico. Nothing. This he don't care. Nothing.

SARAH PALIN: No, they don't care. They are just going to make things up, Glenn. They are going to try to make you look bad, they are going to put your name into an article that's negative about me, which is so unnecessary.

GLENN: Bring it.

SARAH PALIN: I mean, they can take their shots at me. What I said about the article is, hey, you can lie about me, Politico, Jonathan Martin, you punk. You guys can lie about me, but you are taking on the big guns, you are taking on Beck. You know, you are an idiot if you take him on. Jeez.

GLENN: I don't know. I'm a little sidetracked now with that other little guy, George Soros.

SARAH PALIN: Yeah, the little guy, yeah.

Earlier in the show, Beck joined Hannity and Levin in demanding a retraction from Politico.

Politico has yet to comply.
