Yikes! There is still no letup in the passionate love affair between the Los Angeles Times and Barack Obama. Today's paper (Sunday, March 11, 2007) features a 1,468-word smooch to the Democratic candidate called, "Obama's peers didn't see his angst." The profile of the "campaign sensation" (writer Richard Serrano's words) recounts his days as a teen in Hawaii. See an image of the article and the extra-large 52-square-inch photo here.
Today's article is just the latest in a growing, voluminous list of adulatory, flattering coverage of the Democratic candidate by the Times. Just a few examples are here, here, here, here, here, and here. (Images of the Times' articles are available at several of the links.)
In case you were wondering, the Times has not done any similarly fawning profiles on Sen. Sam Brownback recently. </sarcasm>

March 11, 2007 - 16:51 ET by jpm100The last time we had a feelgood President, we had double-digit inflation, Interest rates and unemployment. We saw the birth of Radical Islam. We saw the Soviets build their army.
What can I say. It will garauntee Republicans in '12, though. If we're still around.

March 11, 2007 - 21:44 ET by MidAmericaI remember as a youngster my father throwing down the paper in disgust because a fawning article about JFK was on the front page. His comment was "Why should I care what the Kennedy’s were having for breakfast'.
However no detail of 'Camelot' was unimportant. Just to be in the presence of the 'Sacred Ones' was to instill awe and change lives.
Osama Obama
March 11, 2007 - 21:57 ET by j17ghsDemocrats (the keepers of the historical record) never mention that JFK won a crooked election. The 1960 election was the first that Democrats stole from Nixon and American voters (with the hype over Watergate used to do it a second time).
Now about Osama Obama. If he were not a black Democrat, news commentators would be forever and deliberately confusing the two names. (Can't you just hear Chris Goebbels Matthews saying, "What did I say? Did I say Osama, again? I meant Obama, of course.)
And instead of illegal in-kind campaign contributions like the LA Times is doing, the media would be digging up what Osama, er, Obama was studying lo those many years as a Muslim student. There'd be no end to the insinuations and probably some very scary facts about his anti-Americanism.

But if you think it disturbs us conservatives....think of how it must drive HRC absolutely around the bend! I'd love to be a fly on the wall as Her Highness reads the daily papers and glowing reviews of her rival. I'd imagine her anger (and her hissy fit) is epic in proportion.
Just a little glass half full thought for the day.

Oh, I find the irony to be delicious.
I suspect HRC is going to do a spot-on imitation of the Wicked Witch of the West one of these days (total melt-down). And Obama is such a neophyte that he will surely put a foot wrong...I'm hoping in spectacular fashion a la F'ing getting his candidacy stuk in Irak. But the question is....will the MsM cover it?
Ultimately, I think the dems will realize these two are both unelectable...and we'll have the lovely trial attorney as their nominee. You know, the one with the great YouTube hairspray demonstration.
I'd watch the dead in the park comments, tho,....some of the Masthead don't care for them.

March 11, 2007 - 22:57 ET by BlazerWell on the Lib side it is polarized between, the Clintonites, and the Obamalites, the only thing left is to see who will stoop to being the others VP when that time comes.
I believe come debate time these two will clobber each other into oblivion. It will be nasty.
On a side note there is serious talk today going around about Fred Thompson anouncing his candidacy, possibly soon. In fact he just did an interview on Fox today semi-anouncing that intention.
Any of y'all have any thoughts on him, I dont' know too much about him, but anything has to be better than the stable we have right now.

While he's not perfect....and nobody is, he's got acceptable conservative positions on almost all issues, and little baggage that I can discern. Plus he comes off as extremely credible, and (this sounds lame, but it's not due to people's "feeliness" factor) has a wonderful voice.
Plus, he's very recognizable.
Time will tell.

If you want fags crawling all over the White House keep knockin' Obama ... Hillary's campaign and another Clinton presidency will be littered with them.

March 12, 2007 - 10:33 ET by iveseenitallJust read a story about Hussein Obama's ignoring 17 parking tickets. Also read that he snorted coke. Remember David Dinkins in New York? He didn't pay his taxes for years. Then there's that drug sniffing Washington guy, M. Barry. I guess being a black politicician puts you above the law. Thanks for reminding us of that, L.A.Times.
