In St. Louis County, police have arrested 19 year-old Joshua Williams and charged him (HT Gateway Pundit) with committing "1st degree arson, 2nd degree burglary and misdemeanor theft" at the QuikTrip convenience store in Berkeley, Missouri on Christmas Eve. Williams "has confessed to the crimes."

As I noted almost two weeks ago, hundreds of protesters in Manhattan repeatedly shouted "What do we want? Dead Cops! When do we want it? Now!" during that city's version of the so-called "Justice For All" marches which took place in several locations around the nation on December 13.
The New York Times failed to report the protesters' rants in its original coverage of the marches. The fact that it finally did so in the 23rd paragraph of a separate story found on Page A18 of its print edition the following day hardly makes up for the paper's original omission. The establishment press in general has largely failed to recognize the existence of the "dead cops" chants — which likely explains why Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel was completely ignorant of them when CNN's Ashleigh Banfield interviewed him on Monday.
Earlier this morning, I posted on Vermont's abandonment of its attempt to impose and implement a "single-payer" (i.e., government-controlled) healthcare system, and on how muted the press coverage has been.
It's difficult to overstate how devastating the Green Mountain State's blowup is to the left's oft-stated long-term goal of imposing single-payer, occasionally referred to a "Medicare for all," on the entire nation. This goes a long way towards explaining the light press coverage. President Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi are among those who are on record asserting that they want — and expect — that nationwide single-payer will happen. Another such person is the now familiar and infamous Jonathan Gruber, an admitted architect (when it was convenient) of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare.
When I first read about this, I thought that it had to be some kind of weird spoof. But it's not.
Over the course of almost two excruciatingly tedious minutes complete with ominous piano-dominated background music, a recently created video intended to become a public service announcement (PSA) shows a teenage boy taking a gun out of a drawer in his parents' bedroom and bringing it to school. At the end of a class period, he puts it on the desk of his shocked teacher and asks her, "Can you take this away? I don’t feel safe with a gun in my house."
Earlier today, according to several center-right and zero establishment press outlets thus far (based on an appropriate Google News search done just before 5 PM ET), White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that President Obama was only speaking "colloquially" when he told hecklers in an audience in Chicago last week that "I took action to change the law" in his November 20 announcement on immigration.

David Weigel's writeup this afternoon at Bloomberg Politics ("Meet the Mild-Mannered Investment Advisor Who's Humiliating the Administration Over Obamacare") is about the guy who has found at least two incriminating videos of Jonathan Gruber revealing the true intentions behind the Affordable Care Act. In some respects, it's well done and interesting.
What's not well done is Bloomberg's choice of the pull quote to highlight:

Early this month, Democratic National Committe Chairmwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz went after Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, claiming that he "has given women the back of his hand," and that "Republican tea party extremists like Scott Walker are ... grabbing us by the hair and pulling us back." I wrote at the time that Wasserman-Schultz's supposed "walkback" was not genuine. The Washington Free Beacon has corroborated that suspicion, reporting, with video support seen after the jump, that the Badger State incident was not the first time she used the language of domestic violence to smear a Republican officeholder:
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has become a darling of the left for being an early promoter of the "you didn't build that" meme President Obama used during the 2012 presidential campaign, and for generally espousing positions to the left of Hillary Clinton.
The press rushed to Warren's defense in 2012 when compelling evidence that she had used her barely present Indian ancestry to "cheat on affirmative action" to advance her academic career went public. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that they have paid little attention to her recent outrageous attempt to establish her leftist bona fides as a harsh critic of Israel, seen in the video after the jump:
Somebody takes Russell Brand seriously. You know, the British comic actor? The one known mostly for his brief marriage to pop star Katy Perry? He’s that guy that did the abysmal remake of the classic movie “Arthur.” Maybe you know him for his drug use?
Anyway, people actually watch Brand’s Youtube video channel, “The Trews,” for his take on the issues of the day. The Huffington Post, NPR, Upworthy, The Washington Post and The Guardian have published his opinions. That’s despite (or more likely because) the fact that those opinions are unoriginal, often hate-filled, intolerant left-wing rants that run to conspiracy theories about corporations and “power structures.” He’s a celebrity of sorts eager to communicate opinions that news and entertainment media elites mostly share, so they’re happy to give him a platform.
“Americans want our next president to be a woman, hey babe here’s lookin’ at you Senator Elizabeth Warren,” were the words sung in a new video put out by the Ready for Warren website following the Massachusetts Democrat's keynote address at the liberal Netroots Convention in Detroit on Friday afternoon.
A former Obama staffer launched a “Ready for Warren” website and took to the liberal activist conference Netroots this week passing out hats, signs, and stickers touting “Elizabeth Warren for President.” Warren delivered the keynote speech at the event this afternoon and the Ready for Warren folks released a “folk music video” urging the Senator to run.

A violent encounter between a young pro-life protestor and an adult abortion activist in downtown Columbus, OH was caught on camera and published late July 9 on Youtube. Students from the pro-life group “Created Equal” were standing on the street corner holding anti-abortion signs and talking with passers by when an infuriated pro-abortion woman approached one young man.
“That’s absolute f***ing lying there, you f***ing dipshit!,” she screamed. “That is not what a fetus looks like, okay? It’s a clump of cells at twelve weeks.” In the rest of the two-minute encounter, she shoved her finger in the man’s face and screamed 20 more f**ks in her incoherent “argument.” Her hysterical rant was peppered with typical liberal condescension about “white male privilege” and claims of “racism” numerous times. The infuriated woman, apparently didn’t think of how her behavior would look like for the company she works for, as she was still wearing her Burger King uniform.

Taking time out of his busy golfing schedule to speak to graduates at the University of California Irvine this weekend, President Obama seized the moment as a way to "light a fire under" the graduates to get them to enlist in his regulation-heavy government-led climate change crusade.
The president spent a significant amount of time discussing what his administration has done thus far to combat climate change, what they plan on doing, and how the graduates can help. He even used the speech as an opportunity to mock those who question the legitimacy of man-made climate change. Obama also blamed his biggest boosters -- the media -- for not spending enough time airing coverage of climate change facts.
