Ann Coulter Shocked By Lack of Outrage Over Sandy Berger

As NewsBusters has reported here and here, there has been a shockingly deafening silence from the American media concerning revelations of former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger’s actions at the National Archives in 2003. In fact, it appears that only Fox News has much interest in a story about a top-level political official stealing and destroying top secret documents from the facility responsible for storing them.

With that in mind, “Your World” invited Ann Coulter on to discuss this issue on Thursday, and the conservative author was not shy (video available here courtesy of our friend at Ms Underestimated). After guest host David Asman gave some background, he asked his guest: “Ann Coulter, where is the outrage? Are you surprised that there is no outrage about this?”

Topic: Time magazine's "People Who Mattered" in 2006 profiles in the December 25/January 1 issue. Amongst those on the list, Katie Couric and Al Gore, whom Time touted: “For His Second Act, Saving the Planet."

Refuting Paul Krugman's "Dramatically Worse" Statement to Fox's Neil Cavuto

Following up on one aspect of Cavuto's rout of Krugman on Fox News yesterday (covered overall by Noel Sheppard earlier today here at NewsBusters) --

Cavuto elicited this stunningly out-of-touch statement from Krugman about the situation for the average person and the middle class that is obviously not true (excerpt is at the end of this Hot Air clip):

Neil Cavuto Smacks Around Paul Krugman While Calling Him a Liar

This was just too delicious for words…but I’ll try. As many of you are aware, most conservatives who study the economy and the markets view the New York Times’ Paul Krugman as being one of the most disingenuous pols on the landscape. Krugman has regularly been shown to flat out lie about economic data in his articles to prove his specious points, and was accused by the Times’ former ombudsman Byron Calame of regularly doing exactly that.

Well, on Tuesday, Krugman got his well-deserved comeuppance as Fox News’ Neil Cavuto called him out for such errors in transmission, and actually called Krugman a liar (must-see video available here):

Here’s what I’m saying that you’re doing: You are lying to people. That’s what I think that you’re doing.

Krugman then actually had the nerve to respond: “I haven’t heard a lie yet.” He mustn’t proofread his work. Luckily, Neil was having none of this:

Soros Blows a Clinton-Style Gasket at Fox's Cavuto

NRO Media Blog notes that George Soros blew a Clinton-style gasket at Neil Cavuto on Fox Thursday afternoon. Cavuto raised his accented ire by noting that he may not be paying all those taxes on the super-rich that the Left constantly demands, since his Quantum Fund is registered in the Netherlands Antilles, in Curacao:

Cavuto: "So your taxes in this country... are they at the 35 percent rate?"

Soros: "I would like to discuss policy. You are now falling into the trap of your colleagues at Fox who shall remain nameless because I think they are so disreputable, I wouldn't want to mention their names!"

Cavuto: "Mr. Soros, I don't think -- "

Soros: "I respect you. That's why I came here, alright? Let's not get personal."

NB's Tim Graham on FNC with Neil Cavuto

NewsBusters Senior Editor Tim Graham appeared on Fox News' "Your World with Neil Cavuto" to discuss the Clinton team's efforts to censor ABC's upcoming docu-drama, "The Path to 9/11."

Graham said the Clinton administration was acting like a "bunch of babies that can't handle criticism." Neil Cavuto asked whether the situation was similar to CBS' pulling of a Reagan movie after pressure from conservatives. Graham said that this situation is different because Reagan "was not allowed to defend himself" and "dying of Alzheimer's Disease" when CBS wanted to air the movie. Bill Clinton, on the other hand, is able to defend himself and say "don't put any lies in it."

After conservative complaints about the Reagan movie, Graham said, the New York Times ran an editorial noting the "Soviet-style chill in the air." But with Democrats now attacking the movie and even threatening to pull the license of ABC, Graham said he doesn't "see anyone attacking the Democrats and the Clinton administration for being censors, for being the people that can't stand criticism."

Appeasement Mentality Should Have Economic Price for U.K.

The topic was whether or not the events of yesterday and today would have an impact on our economic outlook. Ben Stein talked about a nation “bound together by the silk and threads of airline travel,” and how when those threads are frayed, it will strain us. Media Matters Criticism on Global Warming Unjustified

Media Matters is criticizing the Competitive Enterprise Institute's Chris Horner for saying, on the Fox News Channel's Your World with Neil Cavuto, that ratification of the Kyoto global warming treaty was not a high profile issue for President Bill Clinton during the Clinton Administration. The Media Matters headline reads: "On Fox's Your World, CEI's Horner Misled on Kyoto, Global Warming."
