After reiterating her support for 9/11 conspiracy theories over the weekend, Rosie O'Donnell insisted she could work with a possible new co-host, despite ties to George W. Bush. Many 9/11 truthers smear the ex-president as having either orchestrated, or failed to stop, the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. 

When asked if she could be civil with Nicolle Wallace, the former communications chief for Bush and a rumored new co-host, O'Donnell responded via Twitter, "i enjoy nicole - am reading her book right now - and i do not know who is to blame [for 9/11]." [See screen shots of tweets below.] The liberal host also offered her opinion on whether the moon landing was a hoax. 

According to speculation by the Daily Mail on Friday, Nicolle Wallace, a liberal Republican who worked on John McCain's 2008 campaign and famously feuded with Sarah Palin, has been selected to fill the "conservative" seat on ABC's The View. The rumor comes a day after the producer of the left-wing Rachel Maddow Show was hired to run the ABC chat show.

Daily Mail writer Topper Toussaint claimed, "Commentator S.E. Cupp was also considered, but clashed with Rosie [O'Donnell]." He added, "'Rosie told her that her approach was just like Elisabeth Hasselbeck, which did not sit well,' according to the show insider." If the reports are true, Wallace will hardly be a conservative counterweight to the very liberal O'Donnell. 

View co-host Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday fought back against liberal outrage in the wake of her comments on bad teachers and tenure. On Monday, the co-host insisted that bad teachers should lose their job, declaring, "You teachers in your unions, you need to say, 'these bad teachers are making us look bad. We don't want it!"...And it has nothing to do with being a liberal or a Democrat. It has to do with being an American." 

On Tuesday, the comedienne responded to attacks on Twitter and doubled down: "We were not talking about good teachers who do a great job. We were talking about getting rid of teachers who don't do a good job."  She lectured, "My mother was a teacher. So, this is not about bashing teachers and I don't appreciate you misquoting what we said." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Possible new View co-host S.E. Cupp got a tryout on Monday for the token conservative slot on the morning program. Wasting no time, the conservative commentator got in a fight with Whoopi Goldberg over the New York Times's endorsement of federally legalized marijuana. After Goldberg described herself as "very, very, very happy" with the Times, Cupp shot back, "Luckily, it is not up to the New York Times, a New York City liberal paper, to decide what everyone around the country does." Overriding her possible future co-host, Cupp continued, "It's a much better idea for the states to be laboratories of democracy and decide 'we are a state that wants to legalize this. Our neighbors disagree and they're allowed to do that.'" Deriding the editorial, she added, "The New York Times would very much like the rest of the country to get with the Times and get cool and get hip to this thing that is changing." 

The July 11 edition of ABC’s The View began with a discussion on a Kentucky bank teller fired from her job for violating the “high ethical standards” of US Bank. Her transgressions apparently were wishing patrons to “have a blessed day” after her interactions with them and, on at least one occasion, chastising a customer for taking the Lord’s name in vain.

While co-host Sherri Shepherd, a professing Christian, spoke to the discretion needed when Christians “are commanded to go out and tell the good news,” to others, guest panelist Sunny Hostin of CNN strangely brought up the “history, in our society” of people hiding “behind religion to do some really terrible things to other people.” [See video below.
