Reporting on a recently released survey by Rasmussen Reports that indicates that 62% of Americans oppose sanctuary city policies, Telemundo, the nation’s second largest Spanish-language network, slanted its coverage in favor of maintaining the controversial policy.

On Monday night, the major broadcast networks were out in full force to go after Republican Governor Scott Walker (Wisc.) during 2016 presidential announcement for his stance on illegal immigration, “no foreign policy experience,” and comments about union protesters along with an urging by ABC’s David Muir to criticize fellow presidential candidate Donald Trump. Muir scored an interview with Walker and, like his interview with Jeb Bush, Muir neglected to even mention issues such as the economy, distrust in government or ObamaCare. 

In recent days, the nation’s leading Spanish-language networks, Univision and Telemundo, have touted the findings of The Criminalization of Immigration in the United States, a new study by the pro-amnesty American Immigration Council, which details how crime rates are lower among immigrants in comparison with the native-born U.S. population. 

Following last week’s murder of Kate Steinle at the hands of an unauthorized immigrant in San Francisco, the principal evening newscasts of the nation’s top two Spanish-language networks, Univision and Telemundo, acknowledged the controversy over so-called “sanctuary cities.” However, on July 7th both networks provided one-sided reports that only featured supporters of the controversial policy that made it possible for Francisco López-Sánchez, a seven-time convicted felon and five-time deportee, to kill Steinle.

Small business owners often complain about being “choked” by ever-increasing mandated benefits, but rarely do you see their complaints presented in a clear and compelling way. An exception took place during coverage of the very latest mandated benefit in California: sick leave for part-time employees, which just took effect this month.
