Krauthammer to Megyn Kelly: President Obama Is 'Not Serious,' While ISIS Is 'Al Qaeda on Steroids'

In a Thursday interview recorded for Megyn Kelly's Fox News show that evening, Charles Krauthammer provided stunning evidence rarely mentioned even on Fox — and almost never in the establishment press — relating to how unserious the administration's and the Pentagon's "strategy" has been in containing, let alone defeating, ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Krauthammer began discussing the inadequacy of the American military effort at the 1:58 mark of the video which follows the jump, charging that President Obama is only "pretending to be doing something," and discussed the long-term consequences if the situation doesn't turn around.

Jason Horowitz at the New York Times thinks that Hillary Clinton shouldn't bother dealing with the press.

In describing Hillary Clinton's campaign effort in Iowa, Horowitz wondered how, in "a carnival atmosphere," Hillary Clinton "gains politically from playing the freak" by deigning to take questions from the press, thus clearly suggesting that she would be better off if she didn't bother, and that he has her back if she continues on that route. But at the end of his report, Horowitz allowed Fox News's senior correspondent Ed Henry to essentially confirm something I suspected when it occurred, namely that Mrs. Clinton's condescending remarks to Henry about taking questions from the press caused her campaign to decide, likely contrary to her plans, to take some questions.

The Thursday panel on Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Bret Baier took on the issue of the Obama administration’s so-called policy in addressing ISIS and blasted the President for maintaining that the U.S. and its allies are not losing the fight against the Islamic extremist group despite the seizures this week of Ramadi in Iraq and Palmyra in Syria. Leading the way was FNC contributor Charles Krauthammer, who asserted that “[t]he administration is sounding like Baghdad Bob during the invasion of Iraq” and that “[t]hey're losing” which “[e]verybody understands.”

The “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC showed no interest in covering on Wednesday night the optics of President Obama touting global warming as a “serious threat,” in a speech to graduates of the Coast Guard Academy, days after the Iraqi city of Ramadi fell to ISIS. While the networks avoided this story, the Fox News Channel (FNC) program Special Report offered a full segment on the President’s remarks and their timing in relation to the continued rise of ISIS. 

Networks, MSNBC Ignore George Stephanopoulos’s Donations to the Clinton Foundation

On the heels of the news Thursday that former Clinton aide and ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos gave a previously-undisclosed $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC joined MSNBC in making no on-air mention of the newest scandal facing the foundation. As of Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. Eastern, the scandal was mentioned on ten different Fox News Channel (FNC) shows and only once on CNN, but not a single mention on MSNBC.

On Wednesday night, the top English and Spanish networks showed no interest in covering the news that the House of Representatives approved pro-life legislation that would largely ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy that will now move over to the Republican-led Senate. While English-language networks ABC, CBS, and NBC combined with Spanish-language networks MundoFox, Telemundo, and Univision to ignore this story, the Fox News Channel (FNC) program Special Report devoted a 26 second news brief to the bill’s passage of the House.

In the Wednesday edition of bias by omission, five of the English and Spanish network evening newscasts again refused to report on a troubling sign for the U.S. economy while all six omitted any mention of a new development in the IRS scandal. After completely ignoring the story all together Wednesday morning, the CBS Evening News stepped up to mention that the U.S. economy has screeched to a grinding halt with a measly 0.2 percent growth in gross domestic product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2015.
