In some areas of the country, Planned Parenthood has gone on the offensive against local and regional news outlets in an attempt to minimize the exposure of damning undercover videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress. They are telling these outlets that the videos "should not be aired."
This is an attempt at corporate censorship which the establishment press would treat as important news if almost any other business — for-profit or not-for-profit — made such an attempt.
MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell gave Republican-turned-independent and former South Dakota Senator Larry Pressler a relatively soft interview on the October 17 edition of her eponymous Andrea Mitchell Reports program. While Mitchell did press him on which party he would caucus with should he win election, the veteran journalist failed to even mention that Pressler, like fellow Midwesterner Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), is the subject of a residency controversy.
Following a segment that aired on Sunday night’s NBC Nightly News on President Obama’s unpopularity ahead of the midterm elections, the evening news program with two more midterm election segments on Tuesday. Both segments, however, were not without liberal bias, as one segment promoted the “close” Kentucky Senate race and the other discussed three Senate races to watch that present “big hurdles” for a Republican Senate majority.
Time magazine's Swampland blog bills itself as a "blog about politics and policy."
All too often, however, it's more or less a blog about furthering liberal talking points.
Take today's misleading one-sentence blog post by Jay Newton-Small in which she links to the liberal blog Talking Points Memo:
South Dakota is apparently considering legalizing the murder of doctors who perform abortions.
"So Much For Thou Shalt Not Kill," reads the headline for Newton-Small's Tuesday afternoon blog post (see screen cap below page break):
