Dems: Not Giving GOP a 'Rhetorical Weapon' Beats Dealing With Serious Medicaid Enrollment Problems

In the midst of the VA scandal and the Bergdahl saga, two unfavorable Wednesday stories about Obamacare are garnering relatively little attention.

One appeared at the Associated Press ("NOW APPLICATION 'INCONSISTENCIES' VEX HEALTH LAW"), and reprised something the Washington Post brought out 2-1/2 weeks ago (covered here at NewsBusters) about how "at least 2 million" Obamacare enrollment applications have "data discrepancies" holding up their full processing. The other far more troubling story appeared at Roll Call. It dealt with a separate mountain of unprocessed paperwork in Medicaid. In her reporting, the DC publication's Rebecca Adams revealed how twisted and potentially dangerous the Obamacare-related political motivations are on the left, where pretending that everything is fine is clearly more important than acknowledging and quickly fixing serious – perhaps even deadly serious — problems (bolds are mine):

CBS Plays Up The Absence of Republican Speakers at King Anniversary

On Thursday's CBS This Morning, Jeff Pegues spotlighted the lack of GOP speakers at the 50th anniversary commemoration of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech: "Noticeably absent from this event, the GOP...the two most senior Republicans in the House...were invited to speak but declined." However, Pegues failed to mention that the event organizers didn't make much of an effort to get Republican Tim Scott, the only current black U.S. senator, to speak.

The correspondent also zeroed in on former President Bill Clinton's dubious claim during his speech at the commemoration – that "a great democracy does not make it harder to vote than to buy an assault weapon." [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Here are two things the major liberal media outlets aren't telling you.

While guns have dominated the national political dialogue, the clock is ticking on Obama’s budget, and he’s already admitted he will yet again be late, missing the Feb. 4 deadline mandated by federal law.  What's more, for a president who originally campaigned on continuing to create jobs and economic growth for the American middle class, Mr. Obama has not met with his job council in one year, last meeting with the brain trust on January 17, 2012. 

Roll Call Touts Left-Wing Lobbyist Calling Joe Lieberman a Bloodsucker

In an article for Roll Call on Wednesday about Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, David Drucker included a quote from left-wing lobbyist Jimmy Williams, who  ranted: "...many in the Democratic caucus see Sen. Lieberman as a mosquito....The bad news is he has sucked enough blood from both sides of the aisle. The good news is winter is coming, meaning his time in the Senate will thankfully come to an end."

Given the refusal of the media to acknowledge the strain of anti-Semitism currently on display in the radical left Occupy Wall Street protests, it's troubling that Roll Call would choose to include such an offensive quote from Williams in its reporting. Especially as Lieberman nears the end of his tenure in office.
