On Friday's Real Time on HBO, far left comedian Bill Maher hyperbolically likened Syrian dictator Bashar Assad gassing people to death with chemical weapons to the United States "gassing them" "slower with CO2" as he fretted over global warming. He also mocked Republicans as "stupid" for not believing in global warming, and, as he interviewed author Hanna Rosin, he lambasted men as "whiny little bitches."

On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, liberal comedian Bill Maher demonized newly confirmed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch as a "right-wing asshole," a "Scalia clone," and someone who "has never shown any empathy toward a human being" before suggesting that "back alley abortions" might return. He also accused Republicans of "cheating" to get him onto the Court, and of being motivated by racism in refusing to support former President Barack Obama's call for military action in Syria in 2013.

Appearing as a guest on Wednesday's Tavis Smiley show on PBS, far-left journalist Jeremy Scahill of The Intercept argued that he is opposed to giving "fascists" a forum in which to debate people like himself. Then, after defining "fascists" as people who "want the extermination" of blacks and Jews, he hyperbolically claimed that fascists are "being normalized" by President Donald Trump. Scahill: "These are people who -- when we're talking about fascists -- want the extermination of black people...."

On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, far-left comedian Bill Maher made plenty of room for crass and hyperbolic attacks on President Donald Trump. The show featured everything from incest jokes about Ivanka Trump to offering a serious warning that President Trump might follow Adolf Hitler's lead in bringing "fascism" to America after a terrorist attack reminiscent of the burning of the Germany Reichstag building in the 1930s.

Don't hold your breath waiting for MSNBC's Rachel Maddow to trumpet her next scoop, assuming the next time it's actually hers and not someone else's. In the wake of Maddow's is that all there is? report about Donald Trump's 2005 tax return that revealed the not at all shocking news that Trump was actually quite wealthy, at least as of a decade ago, and also paid tens of millions in federal income taxes, the backlash from both sides of the divide has been furious.

On Friday's Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, during a discussion of recent leaks from the intelligence community that have been damaging to the Donald Trump administration, liberal host Maher not only suggested that American intelligence agencies are trying to protect the U.S. from a "coup" by President Trump, but he even theorized that such government agencies were behind President John F. Kennedy's assassination because he was having sex with communist spies.

After he was elected to the Senate from Minnesota in truly dubious fashion, former Saturday Night Live comedian and Air America Radio host Al Franken spent the next several years keeping his head down in Congress while making few appearances on cable. This was the start of Franken's earnest effort to appear a statesman and put the clown act behind him.

Then in November, Donald Trump was elected president and the ongoing left-wing meltdown began in earnest. One of the noticeable changes brought by Trump's victory is that the previously camera-shy Franken, at least as of 2008, was once again the life of the party.

On Friday's Real Time on HBO, host Bill Maher made crude incest jokes about President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka, and, a bit later, got into a heated debate with former liberal CNN host Piers Morgan about whether there has been a substantial increase in violent crime over the past couple of years as the liberal comedian cited a chart that only included crime through 2015 and omitted the most recent figures. Maher further demonstrated his show's difficulty in providing accurate information to viewers as Morgan also called him out for criticizing the recent attack on a terrorist target in Yemen as a failure when, in fact, 12 al-Qaeda operatives were killed.

Two largely unheralded accomplishments by President Trump right out of the gate -- first, his mere presence in Washington compelled countless women to get more exercise in one day than Michelle Obama could persuade them to exert over eight years. And second, inducing liberal court jester Bill Maher to question the sanctity of a major federal bureaucracy. Not bad for Trump's first weekend in office.

Maher conspicuously deviated from his practice of including at least a token conservative or Trump supporter among his guests on Friday night's season opener of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, opting instead to go unchallenged with a group of like-minded leftists who nodded vigorously in agreement. A safe space indeed for a man who once touted his politically incorrect bona fides.

As far-left HBO comedian Bill Maher concluded the regular "New Rules" segment of his Real Time show on Friday, he cited statistics on heroin and prescription drug abuse in states that voted for Donald Trump to portray his supporters as "f***king drug addicts," and ended up mockingly advising them to learn a lesson from liberals and switch to marijuana because of all the painkiller overdose deaths in these states.

Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, HBO liberal talkshow host Bill Maher came on the show to bash conservatives and call on the media to hold Trump accountable. Without any sense of irony, Maher lectured Kimmel on the need for hosts like him to hold Trump’s “feet to the fire” as if the media gives Trump the adoring Obama treatment. Maher then told Kimmel that the media can’t treat the right the same as the left after this election because one side had gone to “crazytown.”

NewsBusters is recounting the most obnoxious liberal bias of 2016. Today, we finish the series with some of the most outlandish celebrity quotes of 2016, mostly of the Hollywood elite shaking their pom-poms for Hillary, hyperventilating over the idea that Trump might actually be elected, and crying “racism” or “sexism” when things don’t go their way.
