How sad it's not when a dubious meme is rendered threadbare from overuse.
Liberals are desperately hoping that their deceitful "war on women" defamation of conservatives will help them shift momentum away from Republicans as the midterms approach. And if this requires that left wingers render themselves more laughable than usual, so be it. It's a sacrifice they're willing to make.

Might be time for MSNBC to tighten security at its studios. I'm not sure who was hosting “The Rachel Maddow Show” last night, but it sure as heck could not have been the cable program's namesake. The person certainly looked and sounded like Maddow, no doubt about that, but once you hear what she said, I think you'll agree there's no possible way it was Maddow.

Few lower forms of life exist, at least to MSNBC, than the humble, hard-working owners of small businesses in Ferguson, Mo., that were looted last month in civil unrest after the fatal police shooting of an unarmed black teen.
Indifference is worse than hatred, the old saw goes, and ignoring the travails of these business people since their livelihoods were destroyed has become pronounced among MSNBC pundits and their guests. That these same people see themselves as deeply compassionate makes their shrugging away such obvious suffering all the more bizarre.

Another embarrassing mistake by Rachel Maddow. This time Rachel has revealed her unfamiliarity with some simple world geography. On her MSNBC show this evening, discussing President Obama's impending trip to one of the Baltic states--Estonia--Maddow told anecdotes of "the last time a US President visited the Balkans." Whoops!
Maddow waxed on about how the last time an American president visited the "Balkans," it was George W., visiting Albania. Rachel recounted the story of how W's wrist-watch disappeared when he waded into a crowd of Albanian well-wishers. With malicious glee, Maddow mentioned that in honor of his visit, the Albanians erected a tall statue of W with a "teeny, teeny, teeny, tiny little head." Earlier today, the Hollywood Reporter told readers that MSNBC had a horrible July rating period. For the four weeks ended July 27, the self-described "lean forward" network saw "its total day average among the news demo of adults 25-54" drop by "33 percent from July 2013," causing it come in "below HLN by 16,000 viewers for No. 4 status":

Not sure which is sadder -- that Rachel Maddow actually believes this, or that she knows it's not true and says it anyway.
A sure sign that Maddow is on thin ice is when she makes a dubious claim without attribution. She did this on her MSNBC show Monday night while trotting out a deceptive euphemism to hide what she was actually saying. (Video after the jump)

On Tuesday, continuing MSNBC’s obsession with Chris Christie, Rachel Maddow attacked the Republican New Jersey governor for his position on guns. Christie recently vetoed a bill that would have reduced the number of bullets in a gun magazine from 15 to 10, much to the chagrin of The Rachel Maddow Show host.
Maddow rejected Christie’s argument that the measure could ultimately lead to a ban on guns entirely. He asserted that “If you take the logical conclusion of their argument, you go to zero, because every life is valuable. And so why ten? Why not six? Why not two? Why not one? Why not zero? Why not just ban guns completely?” Maddow shrugged this off, mocking Christie: "Why save anybody? If you're not going to save everybody, why save anybody? There’s a saying that “life isn’t one damn thing after another – it’s the same damn thing over and over again.” That’s essentially what Steve Benen, a producer for MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” argued regarding the IRS scandal in a Thursday blog post on the “TRMS” website.
Benen claimed that throughout “the imaginary IRS ‘scandal,’ there’s [been] an interesting pattern of events that serves as a template for every development. It starts with an alarming report, which is followed by scrutiny, which leads to details that make the original report appear meaningless.”

Looks like it's not just in Iraq where civil war is breaking out. Seems that it could also be happening at MSNBC, with Iraq ironically being the flashpoint.
Two nights ago, Rachel Maddow condemned TV shows that book original Iraq war hawks like Paul Bremer. Maddow specifically called out her very own MSNBC for having given Bremer air time. And just where had Bremer appeared on the Lean Forward network? Morning Joe. So you have to imagine that Joe Scarborough might well have had Maddow in mind when on today's show he said "I don't know why some people are so intellectually weak that they're afraid to actually listen." Sniped Scarborough: if people "wanted to watch people just saying what they--what everybody else in a little circle believe, they could watch certain shows on prime time cable." Chuck Todd's political correctness button appeared to be in the on position as the NBC political director and chief White House correspondent made four appearances on MSNBC Tuesday night highlighting immigration as the main issue behind House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's Republican primary loss. Not only did Todd conspicuously evade using the word "illegal" while talking about illegal immigration, he even made a crack at one point mocking GOP nominee and Tea Partier Dave Brat for using the words "amnesty" or "illegals" so many times in an interview aired on Todd's Daily Rundown MSNBC show as if there were something wrong with doing so.
Todd, who only once used the word "illegally" amongst all four of his appearances, even though he referred generically to "immigration" 21 times, was dismissive toward Brat's word choice: "I think he used the word 'amnesty' and 'illegals' every fourth word when I was interviewing him this morning." By contrast, Todd was more accepting of loaded terminology preferred by liberals like "Dream Act."
