Did Alan Dershowitz Make Marc Lamont Hill Cry During Israel Debate?

Are you okay, Marc? I have a hankie you can use to wipe away that rolling teardrop that Alan Dershowitz possibly caused during your heated debate on Israel and Gaza during CNN Tonight on Monday.

The weird thing is that Marc Lamont Hill was actually crying over Israel (GASP!) defending itself against both rocket attacks and secret tunnels built from Gaza into Israel for the purpose of killing and kidnapping. A video was posted by Soopermexican showing Hill's tear of absurdly misplaced compassion (or was it frustration from arguing with Dershowitz?) rolling down his cheek.

Don Lemon Shocked by Paul Rodriguez Supporting Deportation of Illegal Children

It wasn't supposed to go this way. Or so CNN's Don Lemon must have thought when he had Mexican-American comedian Paul Rodriguez on his CNN Tonight show on Wednesday.

Perhaps Lemon was expecting the standard liberal answers from Rodriguez about what to do with the illegal children flooding across the border from Central American countries. Instead, Rodriguez shocked him as in can see in this video (and after the jump) with an answer that took him completely by surprise.

On CNN, Conservative Pollster Conway, Joy Behar Spar Over The Future of 'The View'

Kellaynne Conway and Joy Behar faced off on Wednesday's CNN Tonight over the future of ABC's The View, particularly in light of Rosie O'Donnell rejoining the cast. Host Don Lemon wondered, "Will the panel reflect American politics?" When Conway asserted that the program didn't need to be political, Behar sarcastically asked if the conservative pollster wanted the job. Conway replied, "No, no, no. I think they're not really looking for a real conservative."

The former View host later underlined that "a lot of the research showed that women did get their news from us." Conway then expressed her concern about this, which led to Lemon and Behar both making the same point about the long-running ABC program: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Democrat Congressman Surprises Candy Crowley by Blaming Obama for Border Crises

It must have seemed to Candy Crowley like a surefire way to inspire a spirited debate by inviting both Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar of Laredo, Texas and Mayor Alan Long of Murrieta, California to appear together on today's State of the Union on CNN to discuss the border crises. Well, to Candy's great surprise (and probably costernation) they both pretty much agreed about the situation and placed the blame on the Obama administration.

The biggest surprise to Crowley must have been the response of Congressman Cuellar as you can see in this video (and after the jump) making the point not just once but twice about the poor response of the Obama administration. As he is making his points, Mayor Long can be heard agreeing with him as Crowley noted.

CNN Plays Up 'Tough Year' For Obama White House in Wake of Supreme Court Rulings

On Monday's This Hour, CNN's John Berman underlined that the Supreme Court's ruling against the Obama administration's contraceptive mandate was "another setback to the administration, in what has been a difficult year for this White House." Berman later asserted that "this has to be very frustrating for them. They feel blocked politically, legally, foreign policy-wise. Pretty much, everywhere they look now, they're getting blocked."

Co-anchor Michaela Pereira also played up how all three female justices dissented in the Hobby Lobby case and forwarded the left's spin about the Court's ruling: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

CNN Money Reaction to 2.9% GDP Drop: 'This Recovery Is Underway'

Hooray! The Gross Domestic Product shrank by 2.9% in the first quarter of the year. "This recovery is underway."

Your humble correspondent was very careful to put the previous sentence in quotes because I don't want you to think I've taken leave of my senses. This amazing conclusion comes to us courtesy of CNN Money spinmeister Annalyn Kurtz who starts out on a rather gloomy note but manages to spin her way into economic joy:

Bob Woodward Criticizes Press for Ignoring Possible Cantor Defeat But Misses Real Reason

Bob Woodward came close. Oh so close to discerning how much of the mainstream media were blindsided by the stunning defeat of former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in his congressional primary in Virginia. In fact, Woodward came so close that your humble correspondent thought he was going to say it out loud today while being interviewed by CNN's Candy Crowley on State of the Union.

Instead Woodward skipped the real reason and gave the secondary reason for neglect of this story. Woodward did mention that too many reporters don't like to do the hard footwork to investigate stories in favor of sitting around the air conditioned newsroom and surfing the web for research. Unfortunately, Woodward completely overlooked the fact that much of the mainstream media reside in a liberal cocoon and miss much of what is going on in the conservative world as happened in that Virginia election. First let us look at Woodward's very partial explanation for what went wrong with that election coverage:

CNN’s Amanpour Asks Hillary Clinton If ‘Latent Racism’ Exists Towards President Obama

Hillary Clinton sat down with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour for a town hall interview on Tuesday, June 17  to promote her new book “Hard Choices” and was greeted with questions that tilted five to one in favor of liberal issues.

The interview focused on a variety of domestic and foreign topics but it was Amanpour’s question to Clinton about racism towards President Obama that caught a lot of attention. The CNN reporter wondered “Senator Jay Rockefeller said recently and he suggested basically that some of the political opposition to President Obama could have something to do with the color of his skin. Do you agree with that? What do you think about that?” [See video below.]

Congressman Eric Cantor (R-VA) made his first live television appearances on Sunday, June 15 following his primary defeat to his a Tea Party challenger David Brat. The defeat was unexpected by most in Washington and was one of the main topics of conversation across the Sunday shows. 

Cantor sat down with CNN’s Dana Bash on State of the Union on Sunday and was asked by the fill-in host “Do you think that there was anti-Semitism involved in your defeat?" [See video below.]

CNN Trio Debunks Bloomberg Group's School Gun Violence Claim, But Still-Present Video Report Gives It Credibility

First the good news: Ashley Fantz, Lindsey Knight and Kevin Wang at CNN did a very good job this morning in an online writeup debunking Michael Bloomberg's anti-gun group's claim "that there have been 74 school shootings in the past 18 months."

The bad news is that the web page still contains the CNN video which aired the Bloomberg claim without challenging it, thereby continuing to give it credibility.

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin: After Cantor Loss, ‘The Happiest Person In America Tonight Is Hillary Clinton’

Following House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s  (R-VA) primary loss to his Tea Party challenger, CNN’s Senior Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin rushed to play up the loss as evident of how “conservative the contemporary Republican Party is.” 

Appearing on CNN Tonight on Tuesday, June 10, Toobin proclaimed, “The happiest person in America tonight is Hillary Clinton. Because this is who she's going to be running against in 2016.” [See video below.]
