MSNBC.com Declares ‘GOP Panel Keeps Fake IRS ‘Scandal’ Rolling’

Doing its best to follow the narrative being peddled by MSNBC’s liberal hosts, MSNBC.com decided to double-down in its attempt to minimize the severity of the IRS’ targeting of Tea Party groups.

In an April 9 piece, MSNBC.com writer Amanda Sakuma blared in her headline “GOP panel keeps fake IRS ‘scandal rolling” before pushing the talking point that “Democrats accused a House committee of throwing a slab of red meat to its GOP base Wednesday after voting to refer a former IRS official to the Justice Department for possible criminal prosecution.”

MSNBC.com Graphic Targets Texas Gun Store

"'Guns Galore' sold weapon to Ft. Hood shooter" blares the teaser headline at msnbc.com for Jane C. Timm's 11-paragraph April 3 story, "After shooting, Fort Hood searches for answers."

At time of publication there's no indication that the shooter, Spc. Ivan Lopez, broke any laws in purchasing the gun nor that Guns Galore broke any in selling them to him, and yet the Lean Forward network's website aims to make the store out as a villain. [see screen capture below page break]

MSNBC.com Attacks Mozilla CEO’s ‘Glaring Black Mark’ of Traditional Marriage Support

Uh-oh. The newly appointed head of a prominent company did something, six years ago, to signal his support for traditional marriage. Somebody call the thought police!

On Monday, MSNBC.com called attention to this horror in an article titled “Mozilla Under Fire for New CEO’s Anti-Gay Past.” The new CEO in question is Brendan Eich, who was Mozilla’s chief technology officer for nine years before the company promoted him last week. MSNBC writer Emma Margolin explained Eich’s “anti-gay past” in the article’s third paragraph:

'Texas All But Guts Roe v. Wade,' MSNBC Moans As Female Federal Judges Uphold Clinic-Regulation Law

Yesterday an all-female 3-judge panel of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Texas's abortion clinic regulation law. As you can imagine, this has got MSNBC, the "war on women" network,  outraged.

"Texas all but guts Roe v. Wade" grouses the teaser headline for Irin Carmon's March 28 story on msnbc.com. "One third of Texas’s abortion clinics have closed. That’s not bad enough for these female judges. Next stop: The Supreme Court," added the caption below a photo of pro-choice protesters. The story itself, by a 2013 recipient of the New York Abortion Access Fund's "Champion of Choice" award, was fraught with lamentations about the alleged injustice of the ruling and ended on a hopeful note that maybe, just maybe, the Supreme Court would ride to the rescue of the abortion lobby (excerpted in full below; emphases mine):

MSNBC.com Laments Texas AG Abbott's 'Bogus Voter Fraud Crusade'

MSNBC's rooting interest in the Texas gubernatorial race and the Lean Forward network's loathing of voter ID laws came together Monday in a hit piece on Republican gubernatorial nominee Greg Abbott.

MSNBC.com scribe Zachary Roth sharpened his pen to attack the Texas attorney general's "bogus voter fraud crusade." Essentially Roth whined that because there were only a handful of cases of potential voter fraud which Abbott's office was able to document for the network that the state's tightening of ID requirements at the polling stations were an empty gesture at best, and, you guessed it, racially-motivated at worst (emphasis mine)

MSNBC.com: Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Register to Vote a 'Blow to Voting Rights'

Allowing a state to require a potential voter to furnish proof of U.S. citizenship is a "blow to voting rights," according to msnbc.com's Zachary Roth.

The Lean Forward network scribe lamented yesterday's ruling by federal judge Eric Melgren -- Roth made sure to note he's a George W. Bush appointee -- and produced the Left's usual suspects on voting rights issues to whine about how this could adversely affect Democrats. Suffice to say, Roth couldn't be bothered to fairly represent the other side of the story, you know, folks who think the ruling was correct:

MSNBC.com's Serwer Peddles Cynical Attempt to Paint Supreme Court Conservatives As Racists

In what may be a new low for MSNBC.com, writer Adam Serwer today all but compared Chief Justice John Roberts to his most infamous predecessor, Chief Justice Roger Taney, the author of the infamous 1857 Dred Scott decision.

"Shameful link in Voting Rights Act decision," blared the teaser headline in the lightbox at msnbc.com. "Legal scholars argue the decision striking down part of the Voting Rights Act is rooted in the Dred Scott decision, considered the worst in U.S. history," noted the photo caption [see screen capture at bottom of post]

MSNBC.com Falsely Claims ‘Nuns Take Sides as Contraception Fight Heads to the Supreme Court’

Irin Carmon, MSNBC.com’s resident abortion reporter penned a misleading piece on March 18 arguing that nuns are split over the contraception mandate in ObamaCare. Carmon, who doesn’t hide her support for “reproductive rights” chose to deceive her readers about a supposed divide within the Catholic Church.

Carmon began her piece by declaring that “What do nuns have to do with birth control? Plenty, if you’re following the battle over the Affordable Care Act’s coverage provisions and the claim that requiring employers to pay for contraceptive coverage violates their religious freedom.”

MSNBC’s Krystal Ball Screams ‘The NRA Shoots Down a Qualified Obama Nominee’

MSNBC’s anti-gun agenda has made its way to its online site MSNBC.com when Krystal Ball, co-host of “The Cycle” penned a piece on Monday March 17 bemoaning how the NRA supposedly “shoots down a qualified Obama nominee.”

The nominee in question is Dr. Vivek Murthy, President Obama’s pick to be the nation’s next surgeon general, and far from just a doctor. Despite his questionable credentials , Ball lamented how Obama’s nominee “was in danger because Murthy has advocated gun safety and linked public health to gun violence."

MSNBC.com Grouses 'Christie Aides Double Down' on 5th Amendment; No Such Concern with Lerner

When Obama IRS official Lois Lerner yet again pleaded the Fifth Amendment last Wednesday rather than answer challenging questions during a congressional hearing, the liberal media stifled yawns. To the extent the March 5 hearing was covered, media attention turned to the post-hearing fireworks between ranking member Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) rather than the substance of the questions Ms. Lerner refused to answer on the record under oath.

Fast forward to Monday afternoon with MSNBC.com lamenting how "Christie aides double[d] down on Fifth Amendment" in a state investigative probe of the Bridgegate scandal. Here's how staff writer Aliyah Frumin reported the story [emphasis mine; see screen capture below page break]

MSNBC.com Hails ObamaCare Delay As 'Treaty' with Consumers Who Faced Cancellation

If you're looking for proof that the MSNBC is in the tank for the Democrats and ObamaCare, you need go no further than to read an article posted on Wednesday by reporter Geoffrey Cowley that states insurance companies can “keep offering substandard individual health plans through 2016.”

 By extending the time to apply for the Affordable Care Act by two more years, the administration has “extended the treaty it reached last fall with the half-million consumers who were set to lose their low-cost, low-value insurance plans," Cowley insisted.

MSNBC.com: ‘No One Pushes Greg Abbott Around’

Even when attempting to say something nice about a conservative, MSNBC somehow managed to stick its foot in its mouth. Resident MSNBC.com voter-ID conspiracy theorist Zachary Roth sickeningly blared in a March 5th piece that “No One Pushes Greg Abbott Around” with an accompanying picture of Mr.  Abbott waiving to supporters from his wheelchair.  

Roth spent the first three paragraphs in a fairly tame manner, describing how Abbott was left paralyzed at age 26 from a freak accident the Republican sustained while running, before launching into an all-out attack on the Texan. Roth promoted how Abbott “likes to point out that he’s filed 30 lawsuits against “Barack Obama”—never President Obama—and his administration.”
