Just a few days ago NewsBusters noted that Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has started making subtle jabs at President Obama.
In last night's monologue he joked with the crowd about the president's recent annual physical checkup, taking a swipe at ObamaCare. The president, Fallon deadpanned, had complained about some pain in his right foot, but, "when asked why he doesn't get it treated, Obama said it's not covered by ObamaCare."
The New York State Senate spent time debating making an official state snack: yogurt versus potato chips versus raisins.
And CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, on May 7, ran clips of the state government at work on such a profound choice.
Comedian Don Rickles told David Letterman, on Friday’s Late Show, that “the highlight of my life was doing the Ronald Reagan Inaugural,” the 87-year-old (88 on May 8) recalled of his legendary career.
He reminisced about how Frank Sinatra used his clout to overcome opposition to his inclusion by Reagan aides concerned Rickles would “make us all look like jerks.”
Days after labeling comedian Stephen Colbert a "darling of the far left" and "ideological fanatic," on Monday, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly again called out the David Letterman replacement: "Colbert has built an entire career on pleasing the left. O'Reilly predicted the Comedy Central host would have a tough time drawing viewers to the CBS Late Show: "So he has to compete with Fallon and Kimmel who are basically high-energy guys who want to have a good time on their shows. Be hard to fathom that 40% of Americans who describe themselves as conservative will watch Colbert, and that's a lot of folks to lose from the jump."
“The Secret Service is currently seeking bids for a new presidential limousine,” FNC’s Bret Baier explained at the end of his Tuesday show, setting up a clip from CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, which “got a sneak peek at some of the required features for the next so-called ‘beast.’”

Liberal CBS late night host David Letterman interviewed President Jimmy Carter on Monday night and used the opportunity to lobby the former president to push for greater action on “climate change.”
Speaking with the Georgia Democrat, Letterman gushed over how as president Carter installed solar panels on the roof of the White House before asking if “it will take a global mandate to do anything about climate change?” [See video below.]
Appearing on Thursday's CBS Late Show aired early Friday morning, former NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine with host David Letterman and observed: "...when chemical weapons were used in Syria and they were discovered, I didn't think it was President Obama's finest moment. He said there's a red line, then he kept moving that sucker....[Vladimir Putin] might have taken the measure of President Obama and said, 'I may be able to test this guy'....it has that appearance." That analysis was prompted by Letterman noting: "And people are saying this [Russian invasion of Ukraine] is because of the negotiations, or the unilateral negotiations regarding Syria, when he [Putin] stepped in looking for weapons of mass destruction...and Obama had to sort of acquiesce that because it was not a bad idea. So now he [Putin] feels like he can get away with this. Is that part of it?" Brokaw replied: "Well, I think that's pretty astute."

Every year, in the days before Christmas, toy expert Shannon Eis goes on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman to show off the hot toys of the season. But this year, she was greeted Wednesday night by a “Grinch” Letterman disturbed by “$20 billion a year on toys. 20 billion dollars a year!”
“I wonder if we should take some of that money and put it elsewhere,” Letterman ruminated. “I don’t want to be the Grinch here,” he deflected before being just that, fretting “but people in this country need food.”
