I’ve always said that it takes a lot of rationalizations to be a liberal these days.
Take for example HBO’s Bill Maher who told CNN’s Piers Morgan Tuesday that the President had to lie about people keeping their health insurance plans or else ObamaCare mightn’t have passed (video follows with transcript and commentary):

According to Barack Obama, his Party, and their media minions, Benghazi is a "phony scandal."
The folks at HBO mustn't think so, for according to the Hollywood Reporter, the cable network has just optioned New York Times best-seller "Under Fire: The Untold Story of the Attack in Benghazi" as a telepic to be executive produced by Jerry Weintraub.
The HBO series Newsroom on Sunday continued its clumsy examination of liberal media bias. In the Aaron Sorkin-created series, "Will McAvoy" (played by Jeff Daniels) is a "Republican" anchor at the fictional ACN network. Yet, he constantly bashes members of the GOP in the harshest terms. In the September 15 episode, McAvoy, who in a previous episode referred to the Tea Party as the "American Taliban," huffed, "I call myself a Republican because I am one."
In the episode, which was set on election night 2012, McAvoy then proceeded to denounce the party he claims to be a member of: "...Now I have to be homophobic. I have to count the number of times people go to church. I have to deny facts and think scientific research is a long con." Talking on-air with a fictional Republican operative, Daniels's character lectured, "And I have to have such a stunning inferiority complex that I fear education and intellect in the 21st century. But most of all, the biggest new requirement, really the only requirement, is that I have to hate Democrats." [See video below. MP3 audio here.]
In the fictional world of HBO's Newsroom, the Aaron Sorkin program about the lives of cable TV journalists, the idea of a liberal media bias is something to be scoffed at. On Sunday's episode, the show's new Republican strategist, dared to raise the problem to "Will McAvoy" (played by Jeff Daniels): "The liberal media bias is so clear that it's not worth arguing about."
McAvoy huffed, "I don't think I can let you float an allegation like that and then pretend it's so well agreed upon that it's past debate." Citing a real-life study, "Taylor Warren" (played by Constance Zimmer) insisted, "The media overwhelmingly voted for and is voting for Obama." Later, "Elliott Hirsch" scoffed at "your 15-year-old survey." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Of course, it's not just one survey that found journalists are mostly liberal Democrats. Poll after poll has confirmed this fact.
Ready or not, here it comes: the TV fixation with sexual infidelity. The upcoming shows this fall more than confirm a lust for forbidden love on the screen – or so says The Hollywood Reporter.
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) revealed the trend in a recent article by citing shows such as Showtime’s “The Affair” and HBO’s “Open.” THR’s Lesley Goldberg highlighted the fascination, noting, “Forbidden love seems to be in the air at television networks as infidelity has become the latest theme to sweep development executives off their feet.”
HBO's Real Time is currently on vacation, but host Bill Maher is still finding ways to offend conservatives while sticking a foot in his mouth.

Anyone who’s actually seen the cartoonish Sarah Palin as a mentally imbalanced fruitcake in the HBO movie “Game Change” would laugh (or throw their remote-control) at the sound of the movie’s Jay Roach appearing on the PBS NewsHour on Tuesday night. PBS assembled a panel of political-entertainment makers.
Anchor Jeffrey Brown asked Roach, “How do you fictionalize what you see, you said you see as a kind of [political] dysfunction?” Roach insisted his liberal-propaganda HBO movies were non-fictional:

That's why it was rather surprising to read in Mother Jones that he told a gathering hosted by HBO and The New Republic Wednesday that the Huffington Post helps power "a genuinely damaging force in our culture":
It goes without saying that many conservatives think Bill Maher is one of the biggest losers on television.
Such sentiments are truer than you think, for as The Wrap reported Monday, Maher is BY FAR the biggest loser in Emmy Award history.
