According to New York magazine, NBC aggressively attempted to hire liberal comic Jon Stewart as the new anchor of the beleaguered Meet the Press. Writer Gabriel Sherman claimed, "Before choosing Todd, NBC News president Deborah Turness held negotiations with Jon Stewart about hosting Meet the Press, according to three senior television sources with knowledge of the talks."

The liberal media’s favorite unethical and crude comedian is at it again. On the October 2 edition of The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, the Comedy Central host began his monologue with a distasteful joke only a self-proclaimed liberal could get away with. In fact, if any conservative comedian (should he get airtime) had made the same joke, he would have been booed off the set.
After playing a clip of Bill O’Reilly stating that due to the threat of Ebola, “I would absolutely say, for the next few months, nobody from West Africa gets into the United States,” Stewart showed an image of a slave-trade map of the 1700’s and snidely commented, “What a difference in Africa-U.S. travel policy 150 years makes. You know, I have to say that Africans--they would have loved that proposal 200 years ago.”

Under threat of a lawsuit, the liberal Daily Show altered a highly controversial ambush segment revolving around the Washington Redskins team name. A severely edited version of the story aired Thursday night, but still contained more overt editorializing and less comedy. Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones berated team owner Dan Snyder, railing, "He who stands on the wrong side of history, change the f***ing name!"

The liberal legend of Jon Stewart began with his October 15, 2004 appearance on CNN’s “Crossfire,” where he rhetorically sentenced the show to death. He proclaimed, “It’s hurting America. Here is what I wanted to tell you guys: Stop... You have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably.”
CNN announced it was canceling the show two months later, as network president president Jon Klein told the New York Times "I agree wholeheartedly with Jon Stewart's overall premise."

The Washington Post's Metro section on Saturday carried the headline "Redskins fans say 'Daily Show' misled them: Showdown with Native Americans Was a Surprise." Fans were set up for an ambush to be accused of racism, or loving a racist mascot.
In other words, once again, Jon Stewart's Comedy Central crew lied their faces off to an interview subject they wanted to mock. But this time, the liberal media didn't let it slide. Reporter Ian Shapira laid out just how much Team Stewart lied, and then said "No comment" when they were exposed.

To conservatives it borders on stating the obvious – South Vietnam collapsed in the spring of 1975 to invading North Vietnamese because American military forces were no longer in South Vietnam. To liberals, the reason for South Vietnam's collapse to the communists is not so apparent – because for nearly a decade, liberals had claimed that the main problem in South Vietnam was the presence of US troops. How could their nearly complete departure by 1973, except for a small contingent to protect the American embassy in Saigon, mean anything other than clear skies ahead?

We've all heard the never-ending cry from liberal Democrats that conservative Republicans dodge diversity by favoring white males as hosts and guests on their television programs to the detriment of people in such groups as women and blacks.
However, in an article on the Reuters news service, writer Chloe Angyal charges that such “liberal lions” as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert of the Comedy Central cable channel are obviously hypocritical regarding this topic since “their guest rosters more closely resemble a GOP national convention than they do the liberal vision of a diverse and equitable America.”

Just back from his summer hiatus on Aug. 26, Jon Stewart had a lot of hate to unload on Fox News, and a lot of sanctimonious posturing on race.
After lamenting the death of the 18-year-old black teenager Michael Brown at the hands of white police officer, Stewart went on to bash Fox News for suggesting that the mainstream media was automatically making this case a race issue.
Stewart condescendingly lectured Sean Hannity, saying “Do you not understand that life in this country is inherently different for white people and black people?”

On Monday, August 4, Daily Show host Jon Stewart took his anti-GOP rhetoric to a new low when he invoked the Ku Klux Klan as a way of mocking House Republicans over the border crisis.
During a segment focusing on Congress failing to pass a border security bill, Stewart played video of two members of the KKK who oppose illegal immigrant children coming into America as emblematic of the GOP's position on the border crisis. The Daily Show host went on to proclaim that “we've got a choice between the Klan plan and our House of Representatives. Um, all right, let's go with the House.” [See video below.]

On Sunday's Media Buzz, Senator John McCain brushed off Jon Stewart's latest blast at him over the Iraq War. Host Howard Kurtz wondered, "Is Jon Stewart fair to Republicans?" McCain bluntly answered, "No, but it doesn't matter really. He's a comedian." When Kurtz brought up Stewart's "sizable following among young people," the Republican contended that "he's a very entertaining and funny guy, but...when he says things...that are absolutely wrong, he gets away with it."

Fox News's Megyn Kelly has clearly had it up to here with the disinformation, misinformation, distortions and outright lies coming from the left in the wake of the Supreme Court's Hobby Lobby decision. A recent dishonest rant by Comedy Central's Jon Stewart (noted at NewsBusters by Jeffrey Meyer early Tuesday morning) and attempts by certain doctors to deny scientific truth caused Kelly to correct the record on the air.

On Wednesday, all three network morning shows eagerly promoted Hillary Clinton's friendly chat with Jon Stewart on Tuesday's Daily Show. On NBC's Today, co-host Savannah Guthrie praised Stewart for finding a "creative way" of pleading for Clinton to announce her 2016 presidential bid. Following a clip of the softball exchange, Guthrie declared: "Well played, Jon Stewart, well played." [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]
On CBS This Morning, fill-in co-host Margaret Brennan teased the story by portraying Stewart's show as a hostile environment for Clinton: "Hillary Clinton enters the lion's den with Jon Stewart. Fellow co-host Gayle King later introduced the segment by proclaiming that Clinton had "sat down last night with another important political player" in Stewart.
