Not Civil: Daily Kos Blogger/OWS Spokesman Blasts GOP as 'Psychotic Cult'

Jesse LaGreca became a minor celebrity in the fall of 2011 thanks to his TV appearances on behalf of Occupy Wall Street. (You may remember him for his cap, a Union Army kepi that made him look like a one-man Civil War reenactment.)

LaGreca is a longtime blogger for Daily Kos under the byline "MinistryOfTruth," and this past Wednesday he loosed another of his rants, this one declaring that while he used to merely despise what the GOP stood for, he now hates Republicans themselves and thinks the party is a "psychotic cult."

They say one man's trash is another man's treasure, and while most people are happy that Communism rests in the ash heap of history, a Daily Kos blogger opined this past Wednesday that it didn't deserve such a sad fate, at least in America.

"gjohnsit" remarked that many idealistic young adults are abandoning the Democratic Party because it's "center-right" rather than left-wing, and wondered, "How did we arrive at this point?" He contends that the crucial developments were two purges of Communism and other hard-left groups from American political life:

In the wake of the new leaks about NSA surveillance, the Daily Kos wants the entire War on Terrorism repealed as a vast violation of American civil liberties.

Terrorism, scherrorism, says "Letsgetitdone." We lose many more Americans due to "gun violence" and the "lack of health insurance," so losing 3,000 people on 9/11 is just a smear on the national windshield:

Earlier this week, a blogger argued that inspiring words from a famous Californian had much to do with the eventual dismantling of the Berlin Wall. Since the blogger was writing for Daily Kos, however, it's unsurprising that the Golden Stater he had in mind was not Ronald Reagan, but rather musician-composer Frank Zappa. 

The Kossack who goes by "toncuz" devoted most of his piece to trashing Reagan's presidency, claiming that Reagan turned America over to "corporate fascists" and further griping that conservatives have "completely 'white-washed' [Reagan's] legacy" to such an extent that they've "completely bamboozled so-called progressive journalists and so-called historians...Progressives must stop coddling Reagan as the 'better' Republican just because so many of today’s Republicans truly sound like escaped mental patients. Reagan was no better."  Then, towards the end of the post, "toncuz" declares:

Daily Kos Rants Rush Limbaugh Show 'Contributes to the Military's Rape Epidemic'

Over at the Daily Kos, they have identified one of the villains that's creating a "rape epidemic" in the military: it's the Rush Limbaugh show airing on the Armed Forces Network around the world. These leftists have tried to remove Rush from AFN in many ways, but this must be the lowest.

The article by "Proglegs" is titled "How Rush Limbaugh's Presence on Armed Forces Radio Contributes to the Military's Rape Epidemic." Somehow, the Limbaugh show is comparable to the advocacy of white supremacy and calls for the violent overthrow of our government:

Ian Reifowitz argued that conservatives' childish hostility to government regulation boosted the tornado's death toll because neither state nor local law requires safe rooms or shelters, and that absent a mandate, such life-saving structures quite often won't get built.  Reifowitz wrote (emphasis added):
