It looks like we have yet another Flying Pigs Alert. Reliably liberal Eleanor Clift has praised Donald Trump's performance at the No Labels convention yesterday. Yes, you read that right. Not only that, Clift was also surprisingly critical of Bernie Sanders at the same event. Will political wonders never cease? Of course, Clift did deliver a bit of obligatory liberal slam against Trump in the first paragraph of her Daily Beast column so let us get that out of way before proceeding to her glowing praise of The Donald:

Now Alter, one of Obama’s biggest fans in the media, wants the POTUS to use his skill as a performer in a different context. In a Sunday column, Alter urged Obama to “challenge Wayne LaPierre, longtime leader of the National Rifle Association, to a one-hour primetime televised debate.”

On Thursday's New Day, during a discussion of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's interview from earlier on the show, CNN political analyst and Daily Beast editor-in-chief John Avlon suggested that America was not really so "great" during the Ronald Reagan years partly because, on "gay civil rights, things were not getting done." He also went on to repeat the discredited myth that, in 1968, then-presidential candidate Richard Nixon claimed to have a "secret plan" to end the Vietnam War.

Hannibal’s gone, but there’s still plenty of horrifying content on television. Cox hinted in a Monday column that some of it’s on C-SPAN, courtesy of congressional Republicans.
Regarding a possible government shutdown over funding for Planned Parenthood, Cox asserted, “Forget shrinking government to the size it can be drowned in a bathtub, the politicians clamoring for another shutdown want government done away with in the most gruesome manner possible—perhaps those Planned Parenthood videos are the inspiration for their actions in more ways than one.”
