Hillary Clinton made her first TV appearance on Monday, June 9 to promote her new book Hard Choices, and already the former Secretary of State is causing quite a bit of controversy. During an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer, Clinton claimed that she and Bill “struggled” after leaving the White House and were “not only dead broke, but in debt.”

In the wake of Clinton’s gaffe, during a segment on MSNBC’s The Cycle, Howard Fineman, Editorial Director of the liberal Huffington Post, and a usually reliable liberal voice on MSNBC, chastised Clinton’s claim of hardship and insisted “That was a disastrous comment yesterday that she struggled. She didn't struggle.” [See video below.]  

On Tuesday afternoon’s closing segment of MSNBC’s The Cycle, host Krystal Ball delivered an epic soliloquy, holding nothing back as she attacked the Tea Party from just about every angle.

The segment was introduced by clips of Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz all using the phrase “We the People.” She chided the recent efforts of various “Tea Party” groups which fell short on delivering a crowd at different planned protests. What followed was boiler-plate MSNBC spin which seeks to pump up its left-wing audience by seeking to marginalize and misrepresent conservatism. Ball accused conservatives of having “developed a strange relationship with reality.” This strange relationship, of course, in Ball’s words because of conservatives:

Since Monday, April 14, ABC's Claire Shipman has been touring the network and cable news networks to promote her new book that she co-wrote with Katty Kay entitled "The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self Assurance-What Women Should Know." Despite the eight television appearances Shipman has made since last Monday, only two interviews openly acknowledged her marriage to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.

While five of the eight programs in which Shipman appeared on to promote her book ignored her marriage to Jay Carney, all eight of them ignored the recent profile of her and her family in the Washingtonian magazine. The five programs that ignored the Shipman-Carney marriage were ABC's own Good Morning America and World News with Diane Sawyer, as well as MSNBC's Morning Joe, NOW with Alex Wagner and The Cycle. MSNBC's Touré Neblett, who recently condoned consumers lying to corporations like Amazon to get discounts to which they aren't entitled, really needs to stay away from Twitter — or have someone screen his tweets.

On Tuesday, he tweeted (HT Twitchy) that "Many in poverty are working poor w two jobs. So 'jobs' is an ineffective anti poverty program." Note that he didn't indicate that "jobs" might not be the whole answer, which in some instances may be the case. He instead asserted that the idea of creating jobs and encouraging poor people to get them is "ineffective" as a way to get them out of poverty.

In yet another example of how desperately MSNBC clings to race-baiting to appeal to its far-left audience, MSNBC host Toure Neblett opted to close the December 16 edition of The Cycle by focusing on last's week's now infamous nontroversy regarding Fox News Channel's Megyn Kelly and comments she made about the commercial representation of Santa Claus being white.

Wrapping up his commentary, Neblett suggested that Kelly was a white supremacist -- because she "posit[ed] that whiteness is somehow normal and central while blackness is other or different" -- and then proceeded to quip that President Obama is a Santa Claus-like figure because he is a "generous, benevolent black man... who lives in a place that some people think is magical" and who has "given something to each and every American, whether they've been naughty or nice," referring to the president and his health care overhaul commonly referred to as ObamaCare [LISTEN to the mp3 audio here; WATCH the video below the page break]:
