On Monday, the co-hosts of ABC’s The View continued the media obsession with trying to discredit Dr. Ben Carson’s personal narrative with liberal co-host Michelle Collins going so far as to suggest his books should no longer be considered non-fiction: "I do think they should put his book in the fiction section."

During the past three months, the big broadcast networks have essentially stopped covering most of the GOP presidential candidates, a lack of national news attention that presumably affects the national poll ratings used to determine which candidates are included in televised debates. Instead of covering the top 10 Republican candidates, or the entire current field of 15 candidates, the networks have now essentially pared down the field to five candidates: Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina.

During an appearance on ABC’s This Week, National Review editor Rich Lowry dismissed the media obsession with Ben Carson’s personal biography and stressed that the constant attacks on the GOP presidential candidate will only serve to bolster his campaign. Lowry stressed that the media critiquing Carson is “going to help him” and pointed out that “in this Republican race that media coverage is extremely important and a negative coverage of a certain type is like gold for these candidates.”
ABC Report: Fiorina's Factual Assertion That Planned Parenthood Is Harvesting Baby Parts Is Only a 'Claim'
By Tom Blumer | November 7, 2015 | 10:42 AM EST On Friday's The View, as CNS News's Mark Judge reported, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar went ballistic when GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina stated that Planned Parenthood is "harvesting baby parts through late term abortion." Part of Goldberg's response as she serially talked over Fiorina: "You know that’s not true. Carly, you know no one’s harvesting baby parts." Behar chimed in: "That offends my sensibility to hear you say something like that when you know it’s not true.”
Fiorina was and remains indisputably correct, while Goldberg and Behar are both embarrassingly wrong. Yet an ABC report filed at its web site Friday afternoon by Jordyn Phelps would only characterize Fiorina's assertion of an obvious, widely-known fact as a "claim." Beyond that, Phelps characterized the candidate's citation of Planned Parenthood's announced decision to cease taking compensation for harvested body as merely being (in Fiorina's view) "proof of her point."

Last week, a Media Research Center study documented how ABC, CBS and NBC were using loaded labels to paint House Republicans, especially the Freedom Caucus, as ideologues who are outside the American political mainstream. On Friday's NBC Nightly News, Chris Jansing touted Politico's scoop about Dr. Ben Carson's "scholarship" claim about West Point, underlining how the liberal outlet "call[ed] Carson's story a 'fabrication.'" However, Jansing's report aired more than two hours after Politico removed the "fabrication" term" from their headline." The journalist later hyped that it's "hard to overstate how much Carson uses his personal story to connect with voters — so this heightened scrutiny...may be a very big threat to his campaign."

Carly Fiorina on Friday debated the liberal co-hosts of The View, mocking them for attacks on her and also lobbying for honesty about the double standard conservative women face. At one point, the Republican lectured: “If all of you are honest, you will admit that this is the reality. Conservative women are held to a different standard than liberal women. That's just true.” When the liberal Joy Behar wondered, “by whom,” Fiorina retorted, “By all of you. By the liberal media.”
