Fox News host Stuart Varney embarrassed Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday’s Your World with Neil Cavuto, using archived video to expose the congressman’s hypocrisy on the debt limit. Rangel supported raising the debt limit before today’s deadline, of course, but back in 2004, with Republican George W. Bush in the White House, he sang a different tune.

Varney, filling in for Cavuto, set Rangel up by asking him why he wanted to borrow so much money now. Rangel ignored the question, instead expressing his glee at the deal the Senate had reached. He exclaimed, “[W]e have kicked the can down the road and I'm happy.”  Varney then made his play: [Watch the video below the break.]

To mark the release of a new Special Report by the Media Research Center’s Business and Media Institute, MRC VP for Business and Culture Dan Gainor appeared on “Varney & Co.” on Fox Business Network on Aug. 28. The topic of the report was the liberal slant of Columbia University School of Journalism – and the nearly $10 million it received from liberal billionaire George Soros.

"They leave out the context of what's really going on, and the context here is 'Obamacare, Obamacare and Obamacare.'"

Dan Gainor appeared on Fox Business's Varney & Co. on August 6 to address the latest dismal jobs report numbers.

"We've got major employers -- Subway and Hardees and Regal Entertainment -- that have announced that Obamacare is impacting how they hire," Gainor said. "We've got these huge, part-time statistics, two thirds of the jobs were just added Friday, to this 162,000 jobs number that was already disappointing, are part time. So you'd think the networks would make the connection, but we've looked at six months of network coverage, and they don't make the connection at all. You can find it in the Wall Street Journal, you can find it in the New York Times, you can find it in the Washington Post -- just not on ABC, CBS or NBC."

ObamaCare is coming apart at the seams, and everyone knows it, but the media are deliberately censoring coverage of developments that expose the health care overhauls fatal flaws, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell noted on the Thursday morning edition of Fox Business Network's Varney & Co. [watch the full appearance in the video embedded below the page break]

For example, Bozell informed Varney that there was a grand total of just 61 seconds of time in network evening news coverage in all of 2012 in which businessmen were allowed to air their concerns about how ObamaCare will hurt their businesses. "That's unofficial, back-door censorship," FBN host Varney agreed with Bozell. That statistic is just one damning revelation from a new book out by Bozell and NewsBusters senior editor Tim Graham, "Collusion: How the Media Stole the 2012 Election and How to Stop Them from Doing It in 2016," which Varney plugged for viewers on the way out of the brief segment.

MRC director of media analysis Tim Graham appeared Thursday on the Fox Business program "Varney & Co." to discuss whether the Obama scandals were going to turn the media elites around on Barack Obama. Graham said this is a temporary rough patch. But he said his cynical side was surprised that other reporters embraced Fox News reporter James Rosen after the Obama administration conducted surveillance of his phone calls.

Graham said, "The Obama administration did something backwards here, because what that [Rosen surveillance] story does is cause the rest of the entire media, the liberal media, to rally around Fox News. So that’s not the kind of day they want to have."
