On Thursday night, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News neglected to mention video that had surfaced earlier in the day of Hillary Clinton attacking the Bush administration in 2007 over their supposed email practices. Instead of mentioning this latest example of hypocrisy by a Clinton, CBS touted a Democratic Congressman who lamented that this story is merely “in the realm of presidential politics” while NBC’s Andrea Mitchell pushed a Clinton-camp talking point and dubbed the scandal as just “fuss.”

According to Good Morning America's Jon Karl on Thursday, Hillary Clinton will ask Americans to simply trust her when it comes to the growing scandal regarding her e-mails as Secretary of State. Talking to George Stephanopoulos, Karl conceded, "George, this is basically going to be the honor system."

NBC Nightly News covered the Hillary Clinton email scandal for a second straight evening with another segment on Wednesday, but it took the position of downplaying the situation by portraying it as political and invoking Republican Jeb Bush’s email usage in comparison. Interim anchor Lester Holt updated “the firestorm over Hillary Clinton’s private emails” by describing those desiring to see them as “her political enemies in Congress” in the form of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

All three broadcast networks reported on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before Congress with segments in their Tuesday night broadcasts, but it was CBS and NBC that led the way in hitting Netanyahu for making a “controversial speech” and touted President Obama for “firing back,” “point by point for 11 minutes.” CBS Evening News substitute anchor Charlie Rose told viewers “Netanyahu did an end run around President Obama today” in his speech with the caption “controversial speech” appearing beside him.

Following a morning in which CBS and NBC gleefully promoted Hillary Clinton’s latest public appearance, Wednesday’s CBS Evening News built on that with another shameless promotion of Clinton and her “new strategy for winning” ahead of a likely presidential bid in 2016. Anchor Scott Pelley began the pro-Clinton segment by remarking how “[i]f Hillary Clinton has a shot at becoming the first woman president, she'll need women voters and we're beginning to see how she hopes to do it” with her speech before a group of women involved in the technology field in Silicon Valley.

On Wednesday, both CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today did their best to promote a recent speech by Hillary Clinton in Silicon Valley in which the former First Lady stressed the importance of gender pay equity in the workforce. The two networks conveniently ignored the fact that under the media’s and her own definition of pay inequality, she paid her female Senate staffers 72 cents for each dollar her male staffers earned.

The “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC each devoted full segments on their Wednesday evening newscasts to a speech given by possible 2016 Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush in Chicago and how the former Florida Governor would be the latest member of the Bush family dynasty to run for president.
