CNN's Morgan Spurlock followed in the footsteps of Christiane Amanpour on Sunday's Inside Man by giving faithful Christians much more harsh treatment than practicing Muslims. Spurlock denounced a pro-traditional marriage sermon by the pastor of a mega-church: "Being somebody who has a lot of friends and family who are homosexuals, it's hard to believe that there's only one way. And it's part of the problem that I have with religion in general."
By contrast, the TV personality sympathized with the apparent plight of Muslims in Tennessee – despite Islam's own condemnation of homosexuality. Spurlock zeroed in on a Muslim woman who has "witnessed the groundswell of Islamophobia first hand," and helped her lobby against proposed legislation in the Tennessee statehouse: [MP3 audio available here; video below the jump]

Cable News Network president Jeff Zucker used his keynote address at the RealScreen Summit in Washington, D.C., on Monday to promote his “new vision” for CNN that he said has expanded beyond reporting breaking news while including documentaries and films in its programming, which he described as “more shows, less newscasts.”
“We’re never going to stray from breaking news,” Zucker stated before noting that CNN “provides more news coverage on a daily basis than any other TV network in America” while broadening out “our offerings to the public, and we have moved into the nonfiction world with some success thus far.”
For several days, NewsBusters has been calling on CNN's Piers Morgan to retract the repeated claim he made on his program Monday that Aaron Alexis brought an AR-15 with him during his attack on the Washington Navy Yard.
Rather than doing that, CNN's anti-Second Amendment host aired a video Wednesday of Morgan Spurlock buying a - wait for it! - AR-15 from a Virginia gun store, "the very state where Aaron Alexis bought his gun" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Morgan Spurlock poses simply as the host of a CNN mini-series Inside Man, meant to take the audience "inside" a number of issues like guns, immigration, and education. As his evident bias on the "Guns" and "Immigration" episodes shows, however, Spurlock's documentaries score liberal points rather than just educate CNN viewers, as his innocuous promos suggest.
On Sunday night's "Immigration" episode, Spurlock actually marched with immigrant activists pushing for immigration reform. Most of the episode sympathized with a group of guest workers and immigration activists while no air time was given to opponents of the current immigration bill before Congress.
In the latest episode of CNN's Inside Man, new host Morgan Spurlock attacked those who bought guns in the wake of the Newtown shootings, and told Americans they don't "need" AR-15 rifles or high-capacity magazines. The episode "Guns" featured Spurlock working at a Virginia gun store.
"I'm completely blown away by the response that people have had to Newtown. That on the heels of a tragedy like this, that they feel that they have to arm themselves," Spurlock arrogantly lectured the gun customers. He also accused the NRA of lying to the public and cast some NRA members as gullible and paranoid.
Count PBS’s Tavis Smiley amongst those in the media finally beginning to realize what an absolute joke MSNBC is.
During an interview with new CNNer Morgan Spurlock Wednesday, Smiley mentioned MSNBC chief Phil Griffin’s recent comments about his network not being the place for breaking news and concluded, “They do spin. The host of a new CNN series Inside Man wants stricter gun laws. Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock aired his opinions on Monday night's Piers Morgan Live after discussing his upcoming show which will document his time working at a Virginia gun shop. The series debuts June 23.
Spurlock wants to see "universal background checks," a limit on magazines, and a database for the mentally ill so they can't purchase guns. "People aren't tracked. There's no way to kind of know who those people are and really keep the firearms out of their hands," Spurlock told Piers Morgan.
