It took nearly seven years, but at long last it's finally been heard -- praise for Sarah Palin on MSNBC.
Even better, one of the people praising Palin -- and there were three, count 'em, three libs on the Lean Leftward cable network today doing so -- suggested that flailing Democrat Hillary Clinton could do worse than to look toward Palin as a political model to emulate.
Shades of 1968 and the Days of Rage? Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has announced that "any opportunity we have to shut down a Republican convention, we will."
Appearing on today's Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC, Cullors also blithely spoke of "the murder of Mike Brown" in Ferguson, MO. Neither of the co-guest hosts sitting in for Harris-Perry, Richard Liu and Janet Mock, challenged Cullors' characterization. This despite the fact that even Eric Holder's Justice Department found no wrongdoing on the part of the police officer who shot Brown.
For a very brief moment yesterday, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry stopped her normal Obama administration cheerleading to criticize him for the way he handled a heckler last week during his speech at a gay pride reception. When the protestor wouldn’t quiet down and kept talking over Obama, he responded with “listen, you’re in my house,” which resulted in cheers and applause from those in the room.
In a Tuesday article, Variety’s co-editor-in-chief Andrew Wallenstein slammed NBC for its series of exclusive interviews with ex-NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal: “...the most absurd aspect of NBC News’ Dolezal Day was how straight-faced its interviewers sat as their subject grew loonier the more she spoke.”
Rachel Dolezal pretended to be black for years as president of the Spokane NAACP. She's now become the "Caitlyn" Jenner of a "trans-black" discussion. People may want to identify as black when they are not.
Always one for a controversial discussion about race in America, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry decided to jump in on the “trans-black” bandwagon, wondering out loud on her Saturday show:
If his 2012 presidential run is any indicator, Rick Perry’s jump into the 2016 presidential race will bring about a flurry of the liberal media’s favorite pejoratives to hit Republicans with. Racist? Anti-science? Religious bigot? Gun nut? Heartless cutter of programs for the poor? You name it, the former Texas governor was called it by his haters in the leftist press.
As I demonstrated last week, MSNBC and CNN, the two also-rans in the cable news race, survive in large part because about half of their revenues are, once contracts are signed with cable and other providers, guaranteed for several years. This insulates them from much of the financial impact of declining viewership.
MSNBC's far-leftism is particulary painful to watch — so painful that it's hard to imagine anyone other than a critic voluntarily watching it. One of the more egregious recent examples of far-left lunacy came about this weekend on tax scofflaw Melissa Harris-Perry's show, where a guest actually said that "you don’t have to have a white person around to have white supremacy play out.” Thus, Baltimore's descent into lawlessness, despite having entirely black leadership, is still apparently whites' fault.
Of all the rotten reasons not to execute Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, we'll give the booby prize to the one offered by Paul Raushenbush, a HuffPo religion editor and ordained American Baptist minister. On today's Melissa Harris-Perry show, Raushenbush imagined that in twenty years, Tsarnaev might become "a spokesperson for reconciling Islam with America. We don't know what this life is going to lead to." Anything's possible, but surely Tsarnaev's sentence should not be based on this sort of idle speculation.
What made Raushenbush's argument particularly galling was his statement that "the idea of ending any life for any reason is for me just not something I want done in my name." I Googled, and sure enough Raushenbush supports abortion rights. You don't want "any life" ended in your name? You don't know what a life that is ended might lead to, Rev. Raushenbush?
The Washington Free Beacon has made another terrific clip compilation – this time, on the MSNBC hosts who owe large chunks of tax money thumping a tub against tax avoidance and in favor of civic-minded taxpaying.
One precious clip is Melissa Harris-Perry proclaiming “I don’t get to opt out of paying taxes once we’ve kind of made a collective decision.” David Rutz offered a summary:
Al Sharpton isn't the only MSNBC host who has a problem with paying taxes. Michael Hewlett of North Carolina's Winston-Salem Journal reported on Wednesday that Melissa Harris-Perry and her husband owe "about $70,000 in delinquent taxes, according to a notice filed in Forsyth County Hall of Justice earlier this month." The IRS placed a tax lien on the couple as a result.
Hippocratic Oath be damned. Abortion schooling is a must for physicians, according to one MSNBC host.
During her MSNBC’s Lean Forward on April 11, host Melissa Harris-Perry questioned Physicians for Reproductive Health’s Dr. Anne Davis on a North Carolina bill that would prohibit the “basic core skill” of abortion at state medical schools. The two described abortion education as a “core part” or a “core skill” five times during the five-minute seventeen-second interview.
Imagine you're a Cuban who has somehow managed to catch the cablecast of Melissa Harris-Perry's MSNBC show today. The topic is President Obama's opening toward Cuba. You're scraping by on the average Cuban monthly salary of $20/month and are thrilled at the prospect of getting a better-paying job if and when American tourists start coming in numbers.
Then suddenly you hear Harris-Perry fretting that there could be a "downside" for Cuba in letting in those American tourists. They could be a "plague" for Cuba. Impose their cultural "hegemony." !Ay caramba!
