MSNBC’s Martin Bashir on Friday closed his show with likely the most disgraceful rant against former Alaska governor Sarah Palin you’ve ever heard.
Besides calling her “America’s resident dunce” and claiming she has a “deceased mind,” Bashir suggested that someone should defecate in her mouth and urinate in her eyes (video follows with transcript and commentary, vulgarity warning):

Martin Bashir perfectly demonstrated why this is Wednesday when moments after the disastrous October enrollment numbers were revealed by the White House, he actually spun them positively saying, "[T]he Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is, in fact, alive and kicking" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, Congressman Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) this week sent out a fundraising email equating Tea Party members to the Ku Klux Klan.
On Friday, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir actually called Grayson out for doing this only to have the Congressman accuse him of collaborating with the Tea Party (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Like many dim-witted but well-dressed people, MSNBC host Martin Bashir fancies himself a rather intelligent chap. He’s also got a penchant for making outrageous comparisons of people that he hates to historical figures that everyone else abhors.
The low-rated British import displayed his talent for extreme analogies on his program Wednesday evening as he seriously compared Republican senator Ted Cruz to David Koresh, a cult leader who thought he was the reincarnation of Jesus.
Republicans are godless anti-government zealots responsible for a federal government shutdown that will literally kill people, MSNBC's Martin Bashir charged in the closing "Clear the Air" commentary on his Friday, October 4 program.
But in a not-so-clever twist, the ever-sanctimonious Bashir -- who has a penchant for selective Bible-thumping to push liberal agenda points -- sought to enlist the nonpartisan Senate chaplain, Dr. Barry C. While the media are busy painting Republicans -- particularly Tea Party-friendly conservatives in the House -- as the legislators who are ultimately responsible for the government shutdown, they are failing to note that "[t]he Democrats and the president have offered nothing" as a counteroffer on the continuing resolution to fund the government, NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell noted on the October 3 edition of Hannity.
The Media Research Center founder argued that it's the same biased narrative with the liberal media as the last government shutdown in 1995, when Bill Clinton vetoed funding bills that had passed both houses of Congress. In this instance, it's a Democratic Senate refusing to sit down with a Republican House to hammer out a deal. "In the media coverage, 21 stories blaming Republicans, not one story blaming Democrats. And you know what's more interesting? You go back to 1995 and you will find the same networks, 23 times they blamed the Republicans. Not once did they blame the Democrats," Bozell noted. Republicans seem to "prefer [reopening] war memorials to" resuming cancer treatments for "living children." That's the grotesque, hyperpartisan spin that MSNBC's Martin Bashir weaved on his October 2 program, reacting to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus's offer to have the RNC pay for five security guards to man the World War II Memorial which the National Park Service, in concert with the Obama White House, has ordered closed during the shutdown.
Bashir made that remark shortly into his Wednesday program before introducing his all-liberal panel of guests. Bashir, of course, failed to mention Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's callous rejection of the notion of passing a funding bill that would re-open the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and with it clinical trials to treat cancer-stricken children. In the immediate aftermath of the Navy Yard shooting the liberal media reflexively began their push for more gun control. NBC’s Matt Lauer, on Tuesday’s Today show pressed an outspoken chief medical officer that treated some of the wounded: “You say you didn’t want to wade into the issue of gun control and yet your comments are resonating with people...but we also heard emotional comments after Newtown and Aurora, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Are you worried that your comments will be soon forgotten, as it seems some of those other comments have been forgotten?”
Lauer’s plea to the doctor represents how desperate the liberal media has been to keep the gun control issue alive, even in the face of recent political losses like the defeat of Barack Obama’s gun control legislation in Congress and the recall of anti-gun state legislators in Colorado. Maybe part — but certainly not all — of the reason President Obama basically got away with claiming that Jacksonville, Flordia, Charleston, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia are ports "along the Gulf" is that the press is so geographically ignorant that it did not recognize the obvious mistake until someone outside of their bubble pointed it out.
I say that because the geniuses at MSNBC somehow allowed what appeared to be a carefully crafted graphic of New York and Pennsylvania show four cities in those states in wrong locations, most of which were hundreds of miles away from where they really are (as carried at Media Bistro; HT to an emailer):
Politico reports “the White House, congressional Democrats and their allies are plotting an August recess offensive” to promote President Obama’s plan against “climate change.” Obama’s Organizing for America website (BarackObama.com) now lists 111 House members and 24 Senators their fans should tweet “Stop denying the science for climate change.”
Politico left MSNBC out of this campaign. Smell the collusion: at Martin Bashir’s blog, they’re calling out “10 House Science Committee members who don’t understand the science of global warming.” In six cases, Team Bashir’s quotes from Congressmen are amazingly similar to OFA’s, from number three to number eight:
MSNBC contributor Joy Reid continued her daily assault on Republicans Tuesday on Martin Bashir, comparing Republicans to chain smokers and blasting the GOP for its resistance to President Obama’s economic agenda. Reid argued that offering Republicans tax cuts is “like offering a chain smoker a cigarette,” pushing the same anti-GOP rhetoric she’s known for on the Lean Forward network. [Video after the jump.]
Host Martin Bashir offered his own analogy to complement Reid’s, likening President Obama’s revenue-neutral corporate tax reform to giving “a drunk a glass of bourbon.” Reid seemed content with Bashir’s insulting and sophomoric joke, sneering:
