Climate alarmists have been in Paris warning about the threat of global warming and the need to limit carbon dioxide emissions for the past week now. But climate skeptics are also bringing their own enlightenment to the City of Light.
“Are they trying to control the climate … or you?” the new film Climate Hustle asks. That is just one of the questions the film will seek to answer about global warming alarmism.
It is a sign of the unseriousness of the mainstream media that the NBC program "Meet the Press" will be hosting a climate debate Sunday featuring a person who plays a scientist on TV.
Yes, tomorrow it is "Bill Nye the Science Guy" versus Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) on NBC's "Meet the Press."
For years, climate alarmists have dishonestly accused global warming skeptics of taking money from Big Oil to do their bidding.
On CNN’s 11th Hour Tuesday, when Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune made such a claim, Climate Depot’s Marc Morano marvelously fired back, “The Sierra Club took 26 million from natural gas and Michael has the audacity to try to imply that skeptics are fossil fuel funded” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Ever since Typhoon Haiyan devastated portions of Southeast Asia -- particularly the Philippines -- in early November, members of the self-styled mainstream media and climate alarmists have charged that "the most powerful storm ever" was caused in part by global warming, and more “extreme weather events” will happen because even during a climate change “pause,” the heat “isn't missing -- it's right there in the ocean, waiting to put super typhoons on steroids.”
Those claims are wildly exaggerated as indicated by our friends over at Climate Depot report. In fact, many scientists disagree strongly with them, including weather expert Brian McNoldy, who stated: “While Haiyan was absolutely amazing, it’s not alone. … Extremely intense tropical cyclones are rare, but have always been a part of nature -- we don’t need to find an excuse for them.”

Debunking Nobel laureate Al Gore's favorite money making scheme is "divisive and toxic."
So said New York Times writer Andrew Revkin during a talk last week at the University of California, Santa Barbara, as reported by the Santa Barbara Independent Tuesday:

As NewsBusters reported Sunday, a new ClimateGate scandal has erupted involving a University of California at Berkeley professor accused of trying to mislead the public by hiding that his research determined global warming has stopped.
Some on the Left heralded the now questionable study including Nobel laureate Al Gore whose excitement was published at the Huffington Post Wednesday:
E-mail messages obtained by NewsBusters refute claims that multi-millionaire filmmaker James Cameron cancelled a debate with prominent global warming skeptics because they weren't as famous as he is.
As NewsBusters reported Monday, a debate had been scheduled and placed on the program for last weekend's AREDay summit in Aspen, Colorado, featuring internet publisher Andrew Breitbart, Sen. James Inhofe's (R-Okla.) former communications director Marc Morano, and documentarian Ann McElhinney.
Within the past 36 hours, event organizers have absurdly claimed that since Cameron wanted to match wits with either Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, or Inhofe, he decided to pull out of the debate when this didn't happen.
E-mail messages between the prospective participants and Cameron's representative paint an entirely different picture.

Multi-millionaire filmmaker James Cameron on Sunday backed out of a global warming debate that he asked for and organized.
For those that haven't been following the recent goings on concerning Nobel Laureate Al Gore's favorite money-making myth, an environmental summit was held this weekend in Aspen, Colorado, called AREDAY, which is short for American Renewable Energy Day.
Ahead of this conference, Cameron challenged three noted global warming skeptics to a public debate where he was going to personally "call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads."
One of the invited skeptics, Ann McElhinney of NotEvilJustWrong.com, wrote about Cameron's surprise cancellation Sunday:
Surprise - a British panel ruled that the scandal known as ClimateGate that supposedly revealed the manipulation of certain data strengthen the case of manmade global warming was much ado about nothing. But, The New York Times in a July 7 story called these findings of an inquiry led by Muir Russell, a retired British civil servant and educator, "a sweeping exoneration" of the ClimateGate scientists in question.
While there are still some serious and legitimate concerns to be raised about what ClimateGate reveal despite the findings, Bill Nye, the so-called "Science Guy" is celebrating and at the same time dismissing skeptics of Russell's findings. He explained why he thought this was important on CNN's July 7 broadcast of "Campbell Brown."
"Well, it's important to people like me," Nye said. "It's important to all the scientists. I think people who don't believe in climate change, who deny climate change, I don't think it's going to affect them very much at all because they're already committed to their - to their beliefs and this will be just one more brick in the great ziggurat of conspiracy for those people."
