It's not often that liberals and conservatives can agree on something, but on Thursday night's "The Last Word" on MSNBC, host Lawrence O'Donnell agreed with us that Edward Snowden showed a very flimsy grip on reality in his "alternative Christmas message" that aired on Britain's Channel 4.

"So, here we have another Edward Snowden statement. And once again, Joy Reid, he says things, every time he speaks, every time, he will say things that are absurdly, wildly overblown." Let's stipulate that MSNBC is "leaning forward" for the Obama administration, and yet reality is reality:

As NewsBusters has reported for years, the hatred liberal media members have for and display towards former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin knows no bounds.

On MSNBC’s Ed Show Thursday, substitute host Joy Reid castigated Palin first for having the nerve to show family pictures on Fox & Friends Christmas Eve – the horror! – but also for having a Christmas tree on - wait for it! - Christmas (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Today’s installment of the Media Research Center’s “Best Notable Quotables of 2013,” as selected by our 42 expert judges: “The Tea Party Terrorists Award.” The establishment media have been hostile to the Tea Party from the moment it appeared on the scene in 2009, impugning participants as racists, “tea baggers” and terrorists ready to blow up the political system.

“Winning” this category in 2011, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman falsely suggested Tea Party complicity in the grievous wounding of Democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, announcing in a blog post written just two hours after news broke of her shooting: “We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was....It’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.” (This year’s winners and videos below the jump.)

Have you ever wondered what MSNBC president Phil Griffin uses as qualifications to hire on-air personalities for his so-called "news network?"

Consider the case of perpetually race-baiting contributor Georgetown professor Michael Eric Dyson who on Monday’s Ed Show actually said that Christian men claiming to love Jesus more than they love women “sounds interestingly homoerotic” (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Today's Melissa Harris-Perry show on MSNBC, with Joy Reid guest-hosting, displayed a "Pope" poster of Pope Francis in the style of Shepard Fairey's "Hope" poster of Barack Obama made famous in 2008.

The show featured a long segment analyzing the Pope's critique of capitalism.  What's the message of the poster and of MSNBC's decision to display it? That Pope Francis and Barack Obama share a critique of capitalism? That Barack Obama is himself a Pope-like figure? Something else?  View the video after the jump.

Yesterday, the Media Research Center announced our "Best Notable Quotables of 2013," with disgraced MSNBC host Martin Bashir "winning" Quote of the Year for his disgusting attack on Sarah Palin. (Thanks to our 42 judges who patiently reviewed dozens of quotes to select the very worst of the worst.)

Over the next few days, we'll present the best of this year's Notable Quotables as a way to review the worst media bias of 2013. Today, the winner and top runners-up of our "Ku Klux Con Job Award, for Smearing Conservatives with Phony Racism Charges." (Winning quotes and video below the jump.)

On Thursday's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, MSNBC political analyst Joy Reid condescended to people angry about their health insurance policies being cancelled as she fretted that President Obama may have to "placate" the "three to five percent" of people who like having "junk" insurance.

During a discussion of President Obama's interview with NBC's Chuck Todd in which ObamaCare failures were discussed, Reid began her analysis:

On the Wednesday's All In with Chris Hayes, MSNBC political analyst Joy Reid recalled that she was "fuming" during New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's reelection victory speech as she griped that the Republican governor "hypnotizes reporters" by appearing "so gosh darn every man."

She and host Hayes went on to complain that Christie had satisfied a "low bar" of being a Republican who does not "hate" President Obama.

After Hayes described himself as "angry" about the speech, Reid began:

MSNBC analyst Joy Reid is one of those liberal media figures who still refuses to say that President Obama lied about Americans’ ability to keep their insurance plans under ObamaCare. On Tuesday night, Reid made a guest appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show to discuss the health care law. Hewitt confronted Reid with a clip of Obama’s recent whitewashing: “If you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law, and you really like that plan, what we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed.”

Rather than confess that Obama lied, Reid undertook a defense of the president using as an analogy DDT, a popular pesticide that was banned in 1972. She explained, “Now had the government in 1972 said, ‘Listen, if you love your pesticide, you can keep it,’ it would have been wrong because the truth is if your pesticide contained DDT, it was now illegal. But you’d have to buy a totally different pesticide and use that on your garden.”

On Thursday's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell, during a discussion of Republican Senator Ted Cruz's father, Rafael Cruz, making a birther joke about President Obama, MSNBC political analyst Joy Reid asserted that Republicans prefer minorities who "repudiate" political views supported by minorities. Singling out Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, she griped:

Talk about calling a spade a spade.

On MSNBC's NOW Wednesday, PBS's Jeff Greenfield called host Alex Wagner as well as the MSNBC contributors on the panel - David Corn, Joy Reid, and Katrina vanden Heuvel - "advocates" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

This is a bit dated, but the Chris Matthews question is quite relevant. Last Friday on Hardball, Matthews asked Joy Reid: "Who's the Democrats' Ted Cruz?"

Reid's answer is extremely amusing, considering Reid was on the ground floor of the Obamessiah campaign, with Obamagasms like Time magazine claiming Obama was "born in the imagination, out of scraps of history and hope." Reid said the Democrats don't have the "authoritarian kind of impulse" of worshiping political figures: (Transcript and video below)
