On Wednesday night, major broadcast networks CBS and NBC showed no interest in shedding light on the findings of new Quinnipiac poll that found Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s honest and trustworthy ratings are continuing to fall and she trails three possible GOP opponents in three battleground states. While the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News focused exclusively on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, ABC’s World News Tonight made time to report on both Trump and Clinton.

All three networks on Monday thrilled over the "historic" opening of a Cuban embassy in Washington D.C. ABC offered the friendliest coverage to the communist regime, completely avoiding any mention of the country's human rights crimes or of the protests outside the new embassy. Instead, ABC anchor David Muir marveled, "The historic moment. Fifty four years later, the Cuban flag flying in the U.S... We are just back from Washington tonight where history was made today." Despite getting a chance to talk to Cuba's foreign minister, he didn't pose any tough questions about oppression in Cuba.

The Big Three broadcast network evening newscasts spent a total of 11 minutes and 19 seconds on Donald Trump's dismissive remarks regarding John McCain's heroic endurance of brutality at the hands of the North Vietnamese during his time as a prisoner of war.

Both ABC's World News Tonight and NBC's Nightly News on Thursday evening devoted full stories to Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner's acceptance speech at last night ESPY Awards. Although Jenner's receiving the award was controversial even among liberal supporters of transgender rights -- critics charged there were far more deserving potential recipients  -- neither ABC's Elizabeth Vargas nor NBC's Hallie Jackson explored that angle.

The major broadcast networks continued their defense on Wednesday night of the Iranian nuclear arms agreement and specifically President Obama’s press conference from hours before, ruling that the President was “on offense” in providing “a spirited defense” of the “history-making deal.” While all three network anchors interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it was CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley who hounded Netanyahu on the deal and encouraged him "to talk things over" with Iranian President Rouhani in Tel Aviv.

Following a censorship on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning of video showing Planned Parenthood senior director of medical services Dr. Deborah Nucatola discussing the selling of body parts from aborted babies, ABC and CBS ended their blackouts on Wednesday night with coverage on their evening newscasts, but made sure to hype the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) as “anti-abortion activists.” On the Spanish-language networks, however, MundoFox, Telemundo, and Univision all continued their refusal to even acknowledge the video.

On Tuesday night, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC continued heaping praise on the “historic” nuclear arms deal between the United States, its allies, and Iran with the negotiators being labeled “jubilant” as President Obama “chart[s] a new course” with Secretary of State John Kerry creating “a moment of history.” CBS's Scott Pelley wrapped up three reports and a brief on the deal by gushing over a picture from July 11 of Kerry “writing his closing argument to the Iranians” that he deemed “a moment of history”:

On Monday night, the major broadcast networks were out in full force to go after Republican Governor Scott Walker (Wisc.) during 2016 presidential announcement for his stance on illegal immigration, “no foreign policy experience,” and comments about union protesters along with an urging by ABC’s David Muir to criticize fellow presidential candidate Donald Trump. Muir scored an interview with Walker and, like his interview with Jeb Bush, Muir neglected to even mention issues such as the economy, distrust in government or ObamaCare.

The latest media double-standard was on display Wednesday night as ABC’s World News Tonight ran a full report dubbed “an ABC News investigation” into news that former President George W. Bush charged a speaking fee to appear before a veterans charity while having neglecting to have done a similar report digging into the millions made in speaking fees by Bill and Hillary Clinton.

On Tuesday night, ABC and NBC reported on the Professional Golf Association’s (PGA) decision to cut ties with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over his stance on illegal immigration and, predictably, the two networks deployed soundbites from Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s CNN interview to bash Trump and the GOP as a whole. In addition, prompted by a Washington Post article, NBC Nightly News used a “worker” from the construction site of a Trump hotel in DC to suggest the candidate is hypocritical on the issue.

After providing relatively substantial coverage on the July 1 murder of a San Francisco woman allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant, CBS and NBC chose to provide their viewers on Tuesday night with other stories and ignored the latest developments and continued questions regarding the disturbing murder. While they failed to refer to the alleged murderer an illegal immigrant, ABC’s World News Tonight continued to stay on this story with a full report from correspondent Tom Llamas.

While it may have been surprising that all three broadcast networks covered on Monday evening the deadly violence in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend, what wasn’t surprising was that they looked to blame guns for the violence and advanced the cause of more gun control (as opposed to gang violence or the need for better policing).
