Ouch! Politico Kicks David Gregory as He Exits NBC

David Gregory is now the poster boy warning for that old adage: be nice to people on your way up because you'll meet them on your way down.

And now that Gregory is on the down career escalator because of his quick removal today from both Meet The Press and NBC News as you can read here at Newsbusters, Dylan Byers at Politico has given him a swift kick on his way out the door. Apparently Gregory was not very nice to the folks who worked at NBC News as you can see below. Perhaps Gregory can take this as a warning notice to be on his best behavior at his next job because the karmatic kickback he is now receiving is not exactly a pretty sight:

On Thursday, NBC News sources confirmed that Chuck Todd will bump David Gregory from the Meet the Press host chair. And while Todd isn’t as liberal as his predecessor, he has played defense for the Barack Obama administration on a number of fronts.

Most recently he dismissed the IRS-Tea Party scandal by asking “are there any actual real victims?” and diminished Benghazi hearings as “partisan.” The NBC News chief White House correspondent also claimed Benghazi figure Susan Rice was simply a “victim” of conservative media but in the past compared Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin to a “car-wreck.” (videos after the jump)

Here's Chucky! Politico Reports Chuck Todd Likely to Replace David Gregory as MTP Host

No big surprise here but Politico is now reporting that Chuck Todd will probably be replacing David Gregory as host of Meet The Press. It was almost inevitable that NBC News would be ousting Gregory due to the terrible ratings of that Sunday news show while he was hosting. The only question was who was going to replace Gregory and it now seems to be confirmed that the widely acknowledged leading candidate is going to be Todd.

The big question now is if Chuck Todd can put aside his liberal reflexes and provide the Meet The Press audience with some surprises as Tim Russert did or will he follow in the footsteps of David Gregory and treat his job like its purpose is primarily to play defense for the Democrats. Of course, the latter course would be a guarantee of remaining in Meet The Press ratings oblivion. In the meantime, let us read the Politico report which is sure to make Chris Matthews turn green with envy:

On Sunday, August 3, NBC’s Meet the Press showed that the liberal media’s anti-Israel bias was in full force.  Moderator David Gregory introduced a taped segment with Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, by pondering “whether Israel may achieve victory, but lose the battle of wider world opinion.” 

Mitchell began her piece by insisting that “as the violence continues, the civilians trapped in the middle, Israel’s strategy of self-defense is becoming less defensible in world opinion.” [See video below.] 

'Meet The Press' Panel Laments ‘Do-Nothing Nature’ of Republicans In Congress

A common theme among liberal journalists is to blame a “do-nothing Congress” when liberal policies fail to become law. Such was the case during a panel discussion on Sunday’s Meet the Press when moderator David Gregory and his entire panel lamented the lack of legislative action on Capitol Hill, mainly in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. 

Gregory summed up the panel’s sentiment when he bemoaned how “until the incentives are changed, a desire for some compromise or even meeting challenges that Americans want dealt with, will not get done. Because nobody will give the other side even a small win in this climate.” [See video below.]

David Gregory Suggests Paul Ryan Doesn’t Have ‘A Lot of Sympathy’ For Poor People

Meet the Press moderator David Gregory did his best to condemn Congressman Paul Ryan’s new anti-poverty proposal during an interview on Sunday, July 27. 

The NBC host played a clip of Ryan from 2013 in which he criticized a “dependency culture” in America which Gregory interpreted as not sounding “like there’s a lot of sympathy for people you think need the government's help. What you seem to be saying is that people have a problem with their own dependency here the government is only furthering.” [See video below.]  

Benjamin Netanyahu Confronts NBC’s David Gregory Over Claim That Israel Targeted a U.N. School

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu profoundly slapped down moderator David Gregory’s assertion that Israel had been involved in the “targeting of a U.N. school that killed children and those civilians who were fleeing a safe place to go in the fighting.”

Netanyahu resoundingly condemned Gregory’s statement and insisted that the “Secretary General of the United Nations before this incident took place, said that, admitted that two U.N. schools in Gaza were used to stockpile rockets.” [See video below.]

'Morning Joe' Panelists Lament Media 'Lying In Wait' To Attack Hillary Clinton

From numerous softball interviews to free publicity for her memoir Hard Choices, it is plain to see that the liberal media adores Hillary Clinton and pines for her to run as a Democratic presidential candidate in 2016. Except, of course, for the panelists on Morning Joe. On the July 25 edition of the MSNBC morning show, Mika Brzezinksi and her guests Mark Halerpin, David Gregory, and Donny Deutsch lamented the “horrible coverage” Clinton is “destined” to receive “if she runs for president.”

Brzezinksi began the segment by recounting former New York Time’s executive editor Jill Abramson’s statement that “the former first lady expected the press, especially female journalists, to be loyal to her” and Clinton’s response that “I'll have to work on my expectations.” While it is true that Clinton expects the liberal media to fawn over her, the Morning Joe panel forgot that usually, they do.

Page Six Reports David Gregory to Leave MTP Soon After Midterms

"We regret to report that David Gregory will be leaving Meet The Press in order to spend more time with his family." Or perhaps it will be, "David Gregory is leaving Meet The Press in order to pursue other projects."

Those are a couple of polite corporate ways to announce the firing of the Meet The Press host with the terrible ratings. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the replacement of David Gregory could be happening right after the midterm elections. No surprise there given the fact that under Gregory, Meet The Press has fallen to last place in the broadcast television Sunday interview shows. Also not surprising is that NBC is planning on replacing liberal Gregory with equally liberal Chuck Todd or Savannah Guthrie according to the Page Six report:

NBC Hails Elizabeth Warren as 'Celebrity' for 'Disillusioned, Disappointed Liberals'

While discussing potential 2016 presidential contenders on Sunday's NBC Meet the Press, correspondent Andrea Mitchell argued that Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren could be "real issue" for Hillary Clinton, touting Warren being "greeted as such a celebrity" at the left-wing Netroots Nation conference. Moderator David Gregory confirmed Warren "getting a huge, huge response" at the event. [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

Mitchell declared that Warren "was all but a candidate" and could make a move for 2016 "if there were a slip, or if there were any reason where Hillary Clinton has to take a step back, and if the foreign policy becomes an issue, which she has to own part of."

He’s No Tim Russert: David Gregory Sucks Up To Anita Hill During Promotional Interview

David Gregory sat down with Anita Hill on Meet the Press Press Pass on Sunday, July 13 and treated his guest to a softball filled interview that would have made his predecessor Tim Russert sick to his stomach. 

The interview was intended to promote Ms. Hill’s new documentary entitled “Anita: Speaking Truth To Power” and Gregory made sure his viewers knew that more than 20 years later the liberal media, including himself, sympathized with a woman who nearly brought down the nomination of Justice Clarence Thomas. David Gregory To GOP Congressman: ‘Do You Lament The Republican Party’s Stand On Immigration Reform?’

Meet the Press moderator David Gregory spoke to Congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI) on Sunday, July 13 and used the opportunity to harass his guest on the subject of immigration in the wake of the ongoing crisis at the border. 

During his interview with the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, the NBC host took a swipe at the Republican Party by asking “do you lament the Republican Party’s stand on immigration reform?” [See video below.]
