Welcoming his first guest on his Tuesday Hardball program to discuss the rise of Donald Trump and the "Fall of the House of Bush" and other establishment Republicans, MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews gushed over former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as the last of a dying breed of "moderate"  "cosmopolitan" pro-choice East Coast Republicans.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews closed out his October 19 Hardball program with the strange assertion that President George W. Bush is both ultimately responsible for allowing the 9/11 attacks to happen AND the murder of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya eleven years later under the Obama/Clinton State Department.

Chris Matthews was at it again last night on Hardball railing against the "Daddy Warbucks" influence in politics, insisting that wealthy super PAC donors like Sheldon Adelson were hoping to buy their preferred candidate in the GOP presidential primary. But an interesting thing happened during the segment when liberal guest Willie Brown, a former mayor of San Francisco, challenged Matthews's simplistic leftist lament about money in politics.

Hillary Clinton doesn't need to rail again against the evils of a "vast right-wing conspiracy" these days since Republicans are all too eager to openly admit they're out to get her, USA Today's Susan Milligan insisted on Thursday's edition of Hardball: “The amazing thing is that she does not even have to talk about a vast right-wing conspiracy and have people make fun of her for it, because they're doing it on their own.”

Speaking to Late Night host Seth Meyers on Wednesday about the recent Democratic presidential debate, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews conceded that self-described Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders was more in line with the future of the Democratic Party than Hillary Clinton.

On tonight's edition of Hardball, MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews tried but failed to get NBC News correspondent Katy Tur, who's assigned to cover the Donald Trump presidential campaign, to speak negatively about the Republican candidate. She declined, saying, "you know I can't answer that!"

During a post-debate interview with socialist Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), MSNBC Hardball host admitted that ObamaCare was setting the country on the trajectory for "single-payer" health care, the sort of socialized medicine employed in Canada and the United Kingdom. Matthews hailed such as model as "simple" and "the most efficient" but then queried Sanders about how we might actually be able to pay for it.

Tuesday may be the Democratic debate night, but that didn’t stop an angry Chris Matthews from trashing Marco Rubio as a “pathetic” “sock puppet.” Before the CNN debate began, the MSNBC Hardball anchor derided conservative donor Sheldon Adelson as a “sugar daddy” who will likely endorse the Republican.

After momentarily berating Bernie Sanders flack Tad Devine over the socialist's prickliness about being questioned about his technically being an independent, not a registered Democrat, Hardball host Chris Matthews tonight praised the Vermont senator's dovish tack on foreign policy, hailing how he would keep the U.S. out of "all those goddamn wars!"

This week, Hillary Clinton is treated to fawning tributes and softball quesions during her "town hall" forum on NBC's Today, while network reporters finger the "far right" as at fault in the surprise resignation of House Speaker John Boehner. Plus, CNN's Christiane Amanpour claims some in the GOP are part of a "war on Muslims," and ex-CBS newsman Dan Rather is sticking to his bogus story: "There is no doubt in any reasonable person's mind now, the story was true."

Cradle Catholic Chris Matthews devoted a segment of his Oct. 7 Hardball program to furthering Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's attack line against Republicans supporting a select-committee investigation into Planned Parenthood. Clinton likened the probe to the select committee investigating Benghazi. Joining in on the fun was liberal Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.).

Leave it to Chris Matthews to find a way to blast the GOP as racist and xenophobic in a softball promotional segment plugging a new book on the life and politics of the late Jack Kemp.
