The wire service's Alan Fram, in a sentence describing the Center for Medical Progress's Planned Parenthood videos, told readers that they show "how they sometimes send fetal tissue to medical researchers" without noting that doing so routinely generates money for the organization.

Regarding a possible government shutdown over funding for Planned Parenthood, Cox asserted, “Forget shrinking government to the size it can be drowned in a bathtub, the politicians clamoring for another shutdown want government done away with in the most gruesome manner possible—perhaps those Planned Parenthood videos are the inspiration for their actions in more ways than one.”

While the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC all miraculously acknowledged on Friday evening the House’s passage of a bill defunding Planned Parenthood, ABC and NBC provided no context in mentioning the horrifying videos released by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) that exposed gruesome practices by the abortion provider.

Even after undercover tapes showed Planned Parenthood engaging in morally reprehensible and legally questionable practices with aborted babies, the New York Times is still using abortion as a wedge issue to use against "hard-right" Republicans, demonstrated by hostile, label-heavy stories in Friday's edition, including two on the front page. Elsewhere there was the usual defense of Planned Parenthood, which after all "provides an array of other women’s health services" besides abortion.

However, the two programs failed to bring up her dare to President Obama and Hillary Clinton to watch the hidden camera videos exposing Planned Parenthood's sale of unborn babies' organs and tissue. CNN's Alisyn Camerota and Chris Cuomo largely skirted the issues during their segment with Fiorina, with Cuomo asking about her lack of smiling during the debate.

The long and short of Jill Filipovic's Friday op-ed in the New York Times was her outrage that the Catholic Church – and specifically, Pope Francis – still considered abortion to be a grave sin. The former Cosmopolitan political writer asserted that Pope Francis "offering forgiveness" to women who've had abortion is "a softer version of the same judgment: that the millions of women around the world who have abortions every year are sinners. Inviting women to feel shame and guilt for their abortions isn't a mercy; it's cruelty."

NPR's Jennifer Ludden's liberal bias was clear on Wednesday's All Things Considered, as she covered a congressional hearing on abortion from earlier in the day. The House Judiciary Committee scheduled the hearing in the wake of the Center for Medical Progress's release of hidden camera videos on the sale of organs and tissues from abortion babies. Ludden pointed out how "Planned Parenthood denies any wrongdoing," and asserted that "the videos show no evidence of it."

The Los Angeles Times apparently doesn't think "women who were born during botched abortions in the 1970s" are abortion "survivors," as a Wednesday article about two such women featured a title that put the term in scare quotes: "Abortion 'survivors' criticize Planned Parenthood on Capitol Hill." Marcus E. Howard led the item by hyping that "House Republicans on Wednesday fueled an already emotional and partisan debate by hearing testimony" from Gianna Jessen and Melissa Ohden, who "survived failed saline-infusion abortion attempts."

Say this for ABC, CBS and NBC: they’re nothing if not tenacious. The networks have been diligent, even relentless, in their efforts to ignore the Planned Parenthood scandal, proving that when they circle the wagons around an ideological comrade, they stay circled.
The networks have maintained their blackout of news about the hidden camera videos from the Center for Medical Progress showing that America’s largest government subsidized abortion mill trades in a robust aftermarket of aborted baby parts – and does so with all the sensitivity and humanity of an automotive chop-shop. Last night, the nets upped their game; ignoring U.S. House Judiciary Committee hearings on the videos.

This past Friday, a Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington state was set on fire. Fortunately no one was hurt. Unfortunately, these few and far between acts of violence committed by lone wolves give the left ammo to make their case that the pro-life side is really pro-death. That’s exactly what Ana Kasparian, one of the hosts of the Young Turks, a popular left-wing talk show on Youtube, did in her September 7 article for Raw Story, “The deadly hypocrisy of the ‘pro-life’ movement.”
In her article, Kasparian used arguments sophisticated enough for a 9th grade debate class to contend that the pro-life movement is filled with “[r]eligious zealots” who’d rather save “non-viable zygotes” than “living, breathing human beings.” Below are her more absurd conclusions.
