Update: Matthew Vadum responds to the questions that the Huffington Post refused to ask him.
Specifically, their "reporter" Seth Colter Walls in "Fox News, GOP Tag-Team Obama With Voter Fraud Smear." Let's begin the deconstruction.
Friday morning, I made a 7:45am appearance on the Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends to discuss how nearly every media outlet is avoiding like the plague any coverage of Illinois Senator Barack Obama's long relationship with ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), the serially criminal voter registration outfit.
So as to better explain why the press, who love Sen. Obama with the intensity of a thousand suns, would be steering clear of reporting on the connections, I cited briefly some basic factual information about Sen. Obama's dealings with ACORN. The media are sitting on this information because they know it would be very damaging to Sen. Obama and his Presidential campaign.
I utilized a variety of sources in conducting my research. The National Review's Stanley Kurtz has been, sometimes while under vicious assault from the Obama campaign, researching and reporting on Sen. Obama's past relationships with radical individuals and groups, including ACORN. I read several of his essays, including "Inside Obama's Acorn." The Wall Street Journal's John Fund has just written a very pertinent book entitled Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy, and he graciously sent me some choice words to peruse.
But most of my information came from Matthew Vadum of the Capital Research Center. Matthew is a good friend and a very intelligent guy, and he and Elias Crim co-wrote an investigative opus on Sen. Obama and his left-wing ties entitled Barack Obama: A Radical Leftist's Journey from Community Organizing to Politics.
Published in June of this year, it is thoroughly researched, comprehensive and very well written, and it has been so well-received and is so respected that it has already been cited in three books: Fund's aforementioned Stealing Elections, David Freddoso's The Case Against Barack Obama (he too has received the Obama campaign's censorship treatment) and Brad O'Leary's The Audacity of Deceit.
I spoke with Vadum at length and he kindly provided me with much information.
Later in the day on Friday, a transcript of my appearance was - unbeknownst to me -- sent out via email by the Republican National Committee. (Judging by the title of Walls's piece, it appears the Huffington Post is shocked - SHOCKED - to discover that the RNC watches Fox News and occasionally sends things that it finds there to its list. To the Huffington Post, that's not media monitoring, that's a tag-team conspiracy.)
We have so often seen left-wing hack attack journalists playing games with what someone says. They pull words and phrases out of their proper context and intentionally fail to include things that would completely destroy the premise of the hit-pieces they wish to fictitiously produce.
And so it is with the thoroughly dishonest Walls.
Friday afternoon, I returned to my office to find a voicemail message from Walls. I cheerfully and in good spirits and faith returned his call. I know the Huffington Post to be a generally horrid entity, but I am friendly with one of their contributors, Norman Horowitz, a liberal man of honesty, honor and integrity. I figured I would give Walls the benefit of the doubt. My mistake.
From his hit piece:
Seton Motley, reached at his Media Research Center office Friday afternoon, abruptly refused to engage in depth with the Obama camp's response to his Fox & Friends segment (after first saying "I'm all ears").
Asked whether he would similarly condemn the Justice Department for joining ACORN in the suit against Illinois, he said, "well, yes I would, but that's not the issue." Before the Obama spokesman's other charges could be detailed, Motley put the brakes on the conversation. "The name of our group is Media Research Center," he said, noting that the only purpose of his effort on Fox was to draw attention to a lack of stories on the matter. "I'm not going to be able to respond to challenges from the Obama campaign."
I was indeed, in the spirit of ingenuous cooperation, "all ears." At the OUTSET of the call, when NO indication as to the content of the questions was yet made known to me. I "abruptly refused to engage in depth" with him the moment I learned of what his queries consisted. Here's why.
As Walls wrote, I said that "(t)he name of our group is Media Research Center," and that we analyze the media. He omitted what I said next, which was that examining the media is our sole mission because we, as a 501(c)3 organization (on the phone, I said something like "by our charter"), are prohibited from doing anything like "respond(ing) to challenges from the Obama campaign."
Leaving out the additional information I provided allowed Walls to paint me as unreasonably unresponsive and uncooperative. I was in fact quite accommodating.
Still operating under the assumption that Walls was seeking facts for a fair presentation, I offered up two people with whom he should speak to get answers to his questions. I first briefly mentioned Kurtz, as Walls mentions.
But then I immediately mentioned Vadum, which Walls omits. I referenced his research paper and explained how he was THE man with whom to speak. I then gave Walls Vadum's cell phone number, again suggesting that Walls should definitely speak with Vadum.
The conversation with Walls ended there. So too obviously did his feeble search for the truth.
Needless to say, Walls never called Vadum, choosing instead to pull two short excerpts from Kurtz's ACORN piece, use them to set-up a fraudulent straw-man and then knock it down. So much easier to do that than to actually engage someone in a dialogue.
Vadum was ready and able to do so. Walls clearly was not.
Update: So willing was Vadum that he wrote his responses to the questions that never came, which you can find here. Perhaps someone should send this link to the incurious Walls and the dishonest Huffington Post.

VADUM RESPONDS
October 4, 2008 - 15:14 ET by Matthew VadumHi NewsBusters readers. I responded to the HuffPost hit piece at my think tank's blog here. I made the point that Senator Obama worked for ACORN because Project Vote (which he admits in an official campaign video that he worked for) is part of ACORN, a fact confirmed by Time magazine and by ACORN founder Wade Rathke. Reasonable people can argue over whether Obama's ties to ACORN make a difference, but they cannot deny that the ties exist.

There is no such thing as a "Radical Right"
October 5, 2008 - 01:53 ET by dcullingThere is no such thing as a "Radical Right" today. There is only total freedom which is anarchy on the right and total government control which is tyranny on the left.
No one called an Extreme Right Winger is advocating anarchy. The most any right winger wants is to get back to the center which is the amazing balance between the two extremes of anarchy and tyranny that the Founding Fathers created and called a Constitutional Republic.
I find it very annoying how the Left has taken control of the meaning of words. They will do anything to advance their version of Marxism.
I agree McCain needs to be more of a fighter. He needs to see the danger of the Left just like he saw the danger of the North Vietnamese and find that warrior inside that he once was. There is little ideological difference between today's American Left and the Communist North Vietnamese of the past.

October 4, 2008 - 18:43 ET by KevpotAt least Obama can name a newspaper? Has he been asked to?

Do you really want to know?
October 5, 2008 - 03:48 ET by dcullingJesseJacksonIV, I'll take the time to try and educate you if you'd really like to learn.
Unfortunately public schools do not adequately teach about our Constitution and the Founding Fathers behind it anymore. Instead they are mostly under the control of the Left and indoctrinate more than educate. So it's probably not your fault you know so little about our Constitution.
When I graduated High School I was pretty liberal. It took me questioning things and looking for my own answers for me to evolve into an advocate of the original Constitution and for conservatism to take us back to it's greatness.
So I'll make some points and see if you agree or not.
As far as the degree of government and the citizens are concerned you can visualize it as a line from left to right. On the right let's put total freedom, no government at all which is anarchy. On the left let's put total government control which would be Marxism, Dictatorships, Monarchies, Theocracies...any form of government that takes complete control of it's citizens.
I submit to you that the Founding Fathers found the perfect balance between anarchy and tyranny. They created for the first time in history a government with just enough power to protect the natural rights of its citizens without being too powerful and allowing corrupt elected officials the ability to oppress the citizens.
I submit too that this unprecedented amount of freedom led to the Industrial, Machine, Communication, Computer and Information revolutions that propelled mankind ahead around 5000 years compared to mankind's advancement before the Constitution. Think about it, all the above occurred in around 200 years.
Do you agree or disagree with what I've stated?
If you disagree, why?
Consider too that we are now far to the left of that perfect balance the Founding Fathers found. What possible reasons are there to keep going to the left and not back to the right?
I'll stop here and await your reply.

OBAMA-ACORN VOTER FRAUD IN MICHIGAN
October 4, 2008 - 22:05 ET by john5750MORE OBAMA ELECTON FRAUD
Municipal clerks across the state are reporting fraudulent voter registration applications, most of them from a nationwide community activist group.
The majority of the problem applications are coming from the group ACORN, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, which has a large voter registration program.
ACORN''s Michigan branch, based in Detroit, has enrolled 200,000 voters statewide in recent months, mostly with the use of paid, part-time employees.
"There appears to be a sizeable number of fraudulent applications," said Kelly Chesney, spokeswoman for the Michigan Secretary of State''s Office. "And it appears to be widespread."
Recently, ACORN''s voter registration programs have come under investigation with some employees convicted of voter fraud.
In Pontiac, where several thousand applications have been submitted by ACORN in the last few weeks for the November election, the clerk''s office is finding that numerous applications are sometimes filed under one name. "They''re steadily coming in, and we are finding a huge number of duplications.
In Oak Park, clerk Sandra Gadd said they have been seeing "lots of duplication" from ACORN in recent months.
Lagstein said ACORN''s Detroit office has hired dozens of employees for the voter registration program.

OBAMA-ACORN VOTER FRAUD IN INDIANA
October 4, 2008 - 22:09 ET by john5750BY BILL DOLAN
October 02, 2008
CROWN POINT, INDIANA | Lake County Republican Chairman John Curley wants a federal investigation into hundreds of voter registrations bearing fictitious signatures or the names of dead and underage people.
"Fraudulent applications are the workings of ACORN groups operating from Milwaukee and Chicago who are getting out the vote for Obama. I'm Republican, but I want everyone who should vote to vote. But I want a clean election," Curley said at a Wednesday news conference.
Lake County elections officials acknowledged they have found problems and had to reject a large portion of the 5,000 registration forms turned in recently by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, an activist group that conducted registration drives across the county this summer.
An ACORN spokesperson couldn't be reached Wednesday for comment. Telephones to ACORN offices in Gary, Indianapolis, Chicago and Milwaukee were reported to be disconnected.
Curley acknowledges the work of the county elections board to weed out obviously invalid applications, but said more may have slipped into the voter rolls so he wants U.S. Attorney David Capp to conduct a criminal investigation.
Elections Board Director Sally LaSota and Ruthann Hoagland, a county elections board technologist overseeing voter registration, said Wednesday it appears some ACORN vote canvassers pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged their signatures.
Curley said one registration form was filled out in the name and address of Jimmy John's, a Crown Point fast-food outlet. Another registration, dated in August, is in the name of a Gary man who died Nov. 16, 2007, according to his death certificate.
Hoagland said large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style.
LaSota and Hoagland said they instructed ACORN on how to legally register voters, but apparently the organization's canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas to get paid. They said ACORN organizers promised to fire workers who were cheating.
LaSota said hundreds of legitimate potential voters may be unable to cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 general election because ACORN delivered incomplete registrations just recently to the county. LaSota said her staff won't have enough time to research, complete and enter legitimate voter registrations before the mid-month deadline.
OBAMA-ACORN VOTER FRAUD IN WISCONSIN
October 4, 2008 - 22:11 ET by john5750Voter registration fraud is not new to ACORN. At the end of August, Wisconsin election officials announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards. There are also investigations underway against ACORN in Nevada and Pennsylvania. The mainstream media completely ignored the discovery that Obama's campaign had illegally hidden at least $800,000 in payments to ACORN earlier this year. While Democrats blame their election losses in 2000 and 2004 on GOP vote fraud, the only proven vote fraud in those elections was fraud committed by groups like ACORN with close ties to the Democratic Party. Stanley Kurtz warned us months ago about this hidden weapon Obama has working for him to seize control of our government. As Kurtz wrote for the National Review in May:
This is a story we’ve largely missed. While Obama’s Acorn connection has not gone entirely unreported, its depth, extent, and significance have been poorly understood. Typically, media background pieces note that, on behalf of Acorn, Obama and a team of Chicago attorneys won a 1995 suit forcing the state of Illinois to implement the federal “motor-voter” bill. In fact, Obama’s Acorn connection is far more extensive. In the few stories where Obama’s role as an Acorn “leadership trainer” is noted, or his seats on the boards of foundations that may have supported Acorn are discussed, there is little follow-up. Even these more extensive reports miss many aspects of Obama’s ties to Acorn.
If you were out and about Indianapolis these past few months, you no doubt encountered young voter registration workers affiliated with the Obama campaign who were wearing t-shirts with "ACORN" emblazoned on them. There is good reason to believe that massive voter registration fraud may have taken place right here in Indiana by this group just like what has occurred in Michigan and Wisconsin. Paul Ogden astutely wrote about "No Hoosier Left Unregistered" earlier this month. Indiana has seen its voter registration rolls grow by leaps and bounds this year, mostly attributed to the efforts of Obama's presidential campaign. Studying Indiana's latest voter registration numbers, Ogden discovered that 93% of possible voters in Indiana, 4.4 million, are registered to vote! Ogden attributed the problem to voters being registered at multiple addresses and the rolls being filled with deceased voters. I'm not sure that explains it.
According to the Secretary of State's office, nearly 500,000 new voters have been added to Indiana's voter registration rolls this year. Secretary of State Todd Rokita, against the screaming protests of Indiana Democrats, implemented a statewide voter registration system database (SVRS) to eliminate duplicate registrations and deceased voters. When SVRS was first implemented in 2006, the Secretary of State discovered that as many as one-fourth, or over 1 million, voter registrations in Indiana were invalid. At least 290,000 duplicate registrations were immediately discovered statewide. It is hard to believe the same type of activity taking place in Wisconsin and Michigan isn't taking place here since the same campaign operatives are behind those efforts.
This should be a wake-up call to Secretary of State Todd Rokita and the Indiana Republican Party. You can bet Marion County Clerk Beth White's office won't alert us to such problems. Shortly after Obama became the apparent nominee of the Democratic Party in June, his team immediately relocated the operations of the national party to Chicago. Obama is a product of a corrupt, one-party system in Chicago. Systematic vote fraud by the political machine in Chicago has effectively eliminated any meaningful competition from the Republican Party for more than a half century. If there is one thing Chicago Democrat know how to do, it is stealing elections. We saw the hanky-panky going on in Lake County in this year's Democratic primary. Don't think there aren't plans to steal votes in Indiana. Chicago Democrats wouldn't know how to run a clean election.

OBAMA-ACORN VOTER FRAUD IN MANY STATES
October 4, 2008 - 22:14 ET by john5750ACORN, Project Vote, and Voter Fraud
Although ACORN has pled to various charges of voter fraud, it continues today enrolling large numbers of voters, some legitimate and others not so much. ACORN tee shirts are visible at Obama rallies.
According to the Consumer Rights League, ACORN has been involved in voter fraud, directly or indirectly, in Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, and Virginia. ACORN’s Project Vote, for which Obama was a paid employee in Chicago, is the organization that appears to be most active in voter fraud. ACORN and Project Vote have a rap sheet of voter misconduct and voter registration fraud that extends across the nation, as the following examples show:
Colorado — Television station KUSA reported that when hundreds of voter registration forms appeared suspect, election officials investigated and found a woman forging the forms, for which she received $50 a piece. Who was paying her? In January 2005, two ACORN employees were given community service for submitting false voter forms.
Florida — When incidents were reported of ACORN issuing fraudulent voter registration cards, a former ACORN field director charged that ACORN submitted “thousands of invalid registration cards”.
Minnesota — Election officials learned that ACORN canvassers were selling voter registration cards for $1 a piece. ACORN denied responsibility and fired the canvasser.
Missouri — St. Louis, Missouri election officials claim 1,492 of fraudulent voter address changes have been turned in by ACORN. Also Kansas City, Missouri had similar voter fraud attempts. Eight ACORN employees plead guilty to federal election fraud in Missouri.
Ohio — The Federal Election Commission found that, during the Ohio Democratic primary, the Obama presidential campaign paid more than $800,000 to a subsidiary of ACORN, Citizens Services Inc. (CSI). The payment apparently was for get-out-the-vote activities rather than the reported “polling, candidate advance work, and staging events”. The exact payment to CSI was for $832, 598.29 to cover services between February 25 and March 17, 2008.
The Cincinnati Inquirer reported that in 2004, a federal grand jury indicted four ACORN employees for submitting 19 fraudulent voter registration forms all with similar handwriting and false addresses.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported on August 28, 2008, that the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (Cleveland) is investigating 75,000 voter registration forms––many found to be fraudulent and submitted by ACORN.
Pennsylvania — In March 2008, ACORN was accused by Philadelphia Election officials of filing fraudulent voter registration forms prior to the Democratic primary.
Washington State — ACORN was fined $25,000 by the state of Washington in 2007 for voter fraud committed by Project Vote. Five ACORN workers pled guilty to filing phony voter registration forms.
Wisconsin — In Milwaukee, 39 ACORN voter registration workers were referred to the District Attorney for possible voter fraud.

Obama-Dodd tried to get 20% of $700 Billion for ACORN.
October 4, 2008 - 22:25 ET by john5750ACORN WANTS PART OF THE $700 BILLION - ACORN IS OBAMA'S FRONT FOR ELECTION FRAUD AND MONEY LAUNDERING
............just google obama money laundering and election fraud.
If the bailout proposal goes through with the counter-proposals from Sen. Chris Dodd, ACORN would receive 20% of 700 billion dollars of the bailout money. ACORN IS STILL TRYING TO GET THEIR HANDS ON IT.
“Senator Graham is referring to Section 5 of the Dodd counter-proposal to the Paulson Plan. To summarize, it promises a minimum 20% of the ‘profits’ from the Treasury’s sale of assets to The Housing Trust Fund and the Capital Magnet Fund.”
One of the bills sticking points, as Senator Graham explained later was a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout to the Housing Trust Fund fraudsters — a boondoggle that Democrats in Congress have used to fund political-action thugs like ACORN.
Along with all of that money, they are trying to affect the federal elections.
Dodd and Obama are the two biggest takers of Fannie/Freddie money. They were highly paid to block McCain's reform bill that would have prevented this crisis.
Those two are the greedy corrupt pigs who created this mess..........AND THEY WANT MORE !!!!
Obama won't do a damn thing for you, he is in it for Obama.
Dem Caucuses were infiltrated by Black Acorn-nuts.
October 4, 2008 - 22:31 ET by john5750WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED
As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were granted to us by our forefathers. WE THE PEOPLE expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected.
In the Democratic Primary, this was not the case. The DNC deprived voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee. Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should be the 2008 Democratic Nominee.
That didn’t happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for “dinners, I-pods",etc.
There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign.
This documentary is about the disenfranchising of Americans by the DNC and the Obama Campaign. We the People have made this film. Democrats have sent in their stories from all parts of America.
We believe Obama's Chicago Machine of dirty politics encouraged and created an army to steal caucus packets, falsify documents, change results, allow unregistered people to vote, scare and intimidate Hillary supporters, stalk them, threaten them, lock them out of their polling places, silence their voices and stop their right to vote, which is all documented in WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

MSM media and HuffPo
October 4, 2008 - 22:31 ET by afuelI don't believe much if anything coming from the MSM outlets or their alter ego's on the web. Just watching CNN talking heads describing something simple about a news story it is obvious they don't have the foggiest idea of how things work, they only read and say what is put before them.
I hope McCain and company are ready to move into "Surge" mode soon as the peak season is getting close.
Stop pretending there is something good on the other side, when talking with the lefty loons you need to be Mirandized, then be quiet....
No Obama now or ever....

Do my ears hear correctly???? Go to the 3:20 mark and listen to what this lady says about 25-30 seconds into her segment....
"It was amazing to hear young women, young mothers, say that no one had ever asked them to register to vote."
WHAT???????? They're waiting for someone to ASK?????? See, those are people that to cause my head to explode when people spout about voting being a "right" and stopping there. Yes, it's a right, but if you have no interest in voting or in getting ANY information on the issues and the candidates, KEEP YOUR A*** AT HOME AND DON'T RUIN MY COUNTRY WITH YOUR "I DON'T REALLY CARE" BS VOTE!!!
ACORN would have NO interest in registering voters if they didn't know that those they are targeting are totally sheep voters for the Democrat party. It's not about the principle of registering voters. It's about registering likely Democrat voters.
What does it take to get through to people?
October 4, 2008 - 22:39 ET by fastfoodElections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy
If Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy , then I guess it's a good thing we are not a democracy. The US, as well as every state Constitution indicates that "We The People" are in fact a Republic. No where in any of the Constitutions is the word "democracy" so much as mentioned, and with good reason. We are governed by laws, not mod rule. What does it take to get through to people? If anyone out there as any idea, will you please let me in on the secret. This changing the Constitutions to suite one's immediate circumstance and fancy is making me nuts.
The Constitution ain't broke, so don't screw with it!
