Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell had some harsh words for members of the media today, especially those associated with the cable network MSNBC.
Speaking at a discussion put together by the Joan Shorenstein Center on Press, Politics and Public Policy, he called the coverage of Barack Obama "embarrassing," and accused MSNBC of being "the official network of the Obama campaign."
UPDATE at end of post: "Fox & Friends" weighs in.
As reported by Michael Calderone at Politico Sunday (h/t NB reader Wisdom6773, file photo courtesy USA Today):
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell was supposed to give “closing remarks” during this afternoon’s Shorenstein Center-sponsored panel discussion with all three Sunday show moderators — NBC’s Tom Brokaw, ABC’s George Stephanopoulous and CBS’s Bob Schieffer — but instead, he opened up a can of worms about bias in 2008 election coverage [sic]
"Ladies and gentleman, the coverage of Barack Obama was embarrassing," said Rendell, in the ballroom at Denver's Brown Palace Hotel. "It was embarrassing."
According to Calderone, Rendell started debating Brokaw about this issue, and when MSNBC came up, said the following:
“MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign," Rendell said, who called their coverage "absolutely embarrassing."
Chris Matthews, Rendell said, "loses his impartiality when he talks about the Clintons.”

*****Update: "Fox & Friends" crew discusses Rendell's statements.

Chris Matthews loses credibility when he references a "thrill" being sent up his leg by a presidential candidate.
But he would never do that................oh, wait.

August 24, 2008 - 20:46 ET by bigtimerBarrack..right you are...one thing about it though, even though he had been a Hill supporter he is one of the few firsts with a voice that matters publicly that has come out on the networks and complained about the bias with msnbc and the unfairness to Fox...I can see thru all of this..but it is still priceless nevertheless when a total jerk leftist does this.
I understand their agenda very well...but it serves two purposes in this case does it not...
...anything to shine the light on the obvious Obamalovin' bias on msnbc by a leftist with an agenda is just fine with me.

The Clintons
August 24, 2008 - 20:52 ET by BarrackCorrect. What's amazing is that so many of these Obamautomatons are former Clinton-lovers who now have more disdain for the Clintons than conservatives ever did..
Now they won't listen to us when it comes to their new leader...
Incredible.
They should be humbling themselves instead of aligning with a man whose middle name is the same as the Grand Mufti of WWII, who LOVED Hitler.
