Ryan Faughnder of The Los Angeles Times cracked: “Want to have lunch with Arianna Huffington and learn why success should mean more than money and power? It'll only cost a thousand dollars.”

Huffington and MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski are headlining a motivational speaking tour called “Third Metric Live.” Tickets start at $300 for the events that will take place in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles this spring. VIP tickets will go for $400, while a private reception and lunch with the two hosts will cost $1,000. Occupy tents are not included.

The tour is part of the Huffington Post's push into live events and conferences...

Huffington hosted the first Third Metric conference in her New York City apartment in June and has held events in Hawaii, the U.K. and Germany. The idea is to push back against narrow measures of success that Huffington and Brzezinski say result in burnout and sleep deprivation, rather than "well-being, wisdom, wonder, compassion and giving."

Washington Post gossip Helena Andrews added a bit to this story:

The tour stops in Washington on May 1 and Speakers at the two-day event include environmental activist Laurie David, singer Peter Himmelman and poet Tanya Davis.

Last June, Huffington hosted the first Third Metric conference at her New York City apartment. During one panel session she reportedly asked pal George Stephanopoulos about his meditation habits (answer: every day for the past two years.) Katie Couric then raised her hand from the audience and said, “I don’t really have that much time a day for this.”
