Homer Simpson Votes Romney, Ends Up in Chinese Factory

Patrick Gavin at Politico reports that the new season of The Simpsons (Season 24!?) will show how Homer Simpson will vote: for Romney. It doesn't end well. "After voting for Romney, the touchscreen alerts Simpson that 'you can now see his tax returns,' in which Simpson learns that 'the government paid him taxes for five years.'”

“I’ve got to tell the press!” yells Homer, and then he is involuntarily sucked into a tube and whisked away to a factory in China. He says: “Well, at least I’ve got a steady job.” This was Homer's decision-making process:

Weighing his options in the voting booth, Simpson says, “Barack Obama, I don’t know. I already got one wife telling me to eat healthy. And, plus, he promised me death panels and Grandpa is still alive. Mitt Romney? I hear he wears magic underpants. I expect the leader of the free world to go commando. Plus, his horse totally choked at the Olympics. On the other hand, he did invent Obamacare.”

One other scene features Simpson walking toward the voting booth, with two campaign signs in the background: “Romney: I have a house in your state” and “Obama: Keep hoping.”

Homer tried to vote for Obama in a 2008 episode, although a rigged machine forced him to vote for Republican nominee John McCain.
